"When I first got to this location, there was no one at the front desk to greet or acknowledge me for about 15 minutes. Then when I finally got to speak to someone I was told I was placed on deferment because of a mistake made on my address by another employee in a different location. They corrected the issue after about 20 minutes. The system would not allow me to complete my questions after about 3 attempts. Then I waited on line for about an hour before getting my vitals checked because there was only one person completing vital signs. Line was very long and by the time I got to the front it was extended all the way to the entrance. The phlebotomist and some other staff looked like they just graduated highschool. Nevertheless, I still trusted them to do what they do, but after almost 40 minutes of donating I notice my arm swelling and no blood going back in, no one stopped by and checked on me until I pointed it out. Basically the blood was just filling up my arm and not going in my vein because the needle was out. She didn't properly secure the needle and the tape holding it was also falling off smh. I had to stop donating from one arm and finish with the other arm. It's been 3 days since and both arms are bruised. Now, I have to wait longer before I can donate again and its very inconvenient. The location in Largo/ Clearwater is far more superior in terms of cleanliness, professionalism, speed and overall performance and I did not bruise whatsoever after donating at that location. Btw did I mention that the green light on the machine I was hooked up to was not even working, so the only way I knew when blood was going out or coming in was because red and orange were not lit up. Who knows what else isnt functioning properly on these machines. I was told RIKA systems would be coming soon but even with new machines, Staff needs to step up. I was a professional tattoo artist for many years and I saw a couple things that the dept of health would consider cross contamination violations. JS"
"On 8/10/24, I visited the CSL Plasma Center #109 with the intent to donate plasma. During my visit, I encountered several issues that I believe need to be addressed. 1. Lack of Acknowledgment and Unprofessional Conduct: When I arrived at the center around 1:45 PM, I was not greeted or acknowledged for approximately 30 minutes. Despite waiting patiently at the reception counter, the staff did not offer any assistance until I had to ask for help. This lack of acknowledgment and delay in service is concerning and unprofessional.2. Violation of Privacy: When I presented my proof of address, which included two pieces of mail from my health insurance, the staff proceeded to open my mail without my consent. This was a clear violation of my privacy. The mail was then scrutinized and discussed among the staff, which I found unnecessary and intrusive. I was informed that the content of the mail, which mentioned pregnancy, was "problematic." However, this mail was not a test result or confirmation of pregnancy, and I felt that the staff overstepped their boundaries by reading it. 3. Inconsistent Information and Handling of the Situation: After the mail was reviewed, I was told that I would need to provide blood work to prove that I was not pregnant in order to donate plasma. I explained that I had already undergone blood work following a miscarriage in [April/May] of 2023 and had proof that I was not pregnant. Despite this, the staff continued to give me conflicting information. One staff member informed me that blood work would suffice, while another said it would not matter, causing confusion and further frustration. 4. Unprofessional Dismissal: When I expressed my frustration and asked why my mail was opened and read, I was met with a dismissive attitude. After a brief exchange, I was told to leave the premises. This response was inappropriate and only added to the distressing nature of the experience.I am deeply concerned about how this situation was handled, particularly the violation of my privacy and the lack of professionalism exhibited by the staff. I am requesting a thorough investigation into this matter and appropriate action to be taken to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. Please confirm receipt of this complaint and inform me of the steps that will be taken to address my concerns.Thank you for your attention to this matter. The link you provided me to submit feedback did not work, as i was met with errors when trying to submit. Sincerely, Sasha M Donor #13913820"
"I’ve been coming here for a while. The lines were long but the employees powered through the donors. They WERE organized and cared about the donor wait time. This is no longer the case. The last month it is not unusual to have only one phlebotomist doing all the sticks and all the setups. They leave donors unmonitored which is so very dangerous. Sometimes you will wait 30 minutes to just get disconnected. I have not walked out of here in less than 4 hours in the last 8 donations. It’s no longer worth my time when it takes half a day. There are other sites to donate. Avoid this one unless you have all day to waste."
"Sorry to say... my time here has come to an end. Long lines, slow movements and staff that, sometimes, are distant or non existent. I've wated over 35 minutes to be disconnected. I've seen the lines at both points go well beyond a reasonable stopping point to where the people in line just had to say "I don't know where this ends" always seems to be "so and so called out, took a long lunch, didn't show/call" or what ever. The vested "supervisors" shouldn't be observers only.... they should be assisting the employees, doing patient care and monitoring the process. It is unimaginable to have a service like this so woefully understaffed on such a regular basis. At this point, it's a failure of management and execution. The cut the line option for new patients needs to be reasonable and well managed. You can't have 40 ish people waiting for hours just to have someone cut the line like that. It drives people like me away and it sets the wrong expectations for new patients. Like. If both of your cues are full, turn new patients away. Especially when you are understaffed. In my opinion, this location is filled well beyond its capacity to do business in a reasonable amount of time. I won't be going back.... it's just not worth it."
"I want to thank all the staff that I had the pleasure of dealing with Thursday afternoon at this great establishment. I hope all the bosses know what a great job they did when they hired all this staff and I was so appreciative that they called me today just to check on me. It felt great to know they cared. THANK YOU ALL! I can't wait to see you all again"
