Reviews
"Front desk staff very pleasant and helpful. My room key only worked 1 out of 3 times I attempted to enter the room and required multiple trips back down to the front desk to have staff let me in the room. This was happening to others as well. The room itself had worn out furniture and a bathroom in desperate need of fresh caulking. Parking was located below the building, but unfortunately the parking staff there was rather rude. Not the worse place to stay, but I'm sure there are other locations in the area to spend your money that are better maintained/updated."
"I would leave 1 star but the staff is very friendly and attentive. They do with what they have. Hotel online photos must have been from the old days. Seems like whoever runs/owns this hotel gave up on keeping up with it back in the early 2000s. Very rundown. First room was so hot. We got moved. Both rooms had very very dirty carpet. Super thin walls; sleeping is hard as it feels like people next door are literally in your room."
"I went to this hotel due to it's close proximity to the Sloan Kettering hospital across the street. It's was clean and comfortable and the service desk employees were just wonderful. The view of the bridge and river next to us and the skyline at night were spectacular. If you need to spend a night or two in the city this is a very nice hotel if you are looking to go and see a play or go to a museum. Will stay again if I'm in this area. Loved the hotel employees they were more than accommodating."
"Staff is friendly but thats all I can pretty much compliment about this place. The carpet is super dirty, sheets feel dirty, the pictures are misleading, well at least for me, my room had a view of a construction site and one morning i woke up the the workers looking into my room window. The hotel is very far from any subway line and you will have to walk a mile just to catch a subway, food in the area is delicious though. Overall I wouldn’t stay here again, unless it was my only option. There is plenty of other options for better prices."
"I would stay here if I was alone and my only objective was to save money, but I’m currently staying here with my family of 4 and I feel like a bad parent for not vetting this place more thoroughly. I have to imagine most of the 5 star reviews are paid for to offset the many poor reviews. And if you read them, you may have your suspicions as well. The carpets are old and feel like they haven’t been vacuumed in a long time and frankly look like they needed replacing years ago. The room has a musty smell and I woke up with a stuffy nose. It feels like cleaning is one of the many line items the hotel decided to save money on. The light switch in the bathroom is broken. There doesn’t appear to be a thermostat for heat control in the room. They don’t have drinking glasses and I had to go to the front desk for paper cups. Everything about the experience feels second rate. I will say the staff is nice. I imagine they must feel bad for the guests checking in knowing the expectations created by marketing vs the reality of the experience. I’m seriously considering finding another location for the 2nd night of our stay tomorrow. This is incredibly disappointing."
