Reviews
"Firstly, I like the people I met at the International Student House. The staff were nice and helpful. However the management is terrible and very poor when it comes to repaying the deposit or communicating with residents. Everything is fine from the management's end when it concerns applying to the house or making monthly payments. However when it concerns former residents seeking repayment of deposits, the experience has been very very poor for many resident, including some receiving theirs late after months. Very unprofessional handling and management."
"Stayed here in June - July 2022 and have been considering reviewing since. Pros: -Location is fantastic. DuPont Circle is really cool/hip -Price is probably the best you'll find in DC on a time squeeze -Lots of young people over the summer -Elijah is a really nice guy -Air conditioning unit in each room (!!!!) -Lost weight due to the quality of the food Cons: -Food is completely inedible. I cannot stress this enough. Don't plan on eating here. It was rumored (thought I'm not sure this is true) that the kitchen ISH was receiving food from had several health code violations -Cockroaches in the building/kitchen -Staff is generally difficult to communicate with. I had a nightmarish roommate situation and was unable to be re-roomed for the 2-weeks before she left. Tainted my whole experience -Rules seem to be strict for guests but not for staff...there's a $50-ish dollar fee in the beginning for stuff like sheets, but I didn't initally receive a fitted sheet. Took a couple days to receive it Overall, I personally would not stay here again. The food and roommate situation were enough to make my experience really negative."
"My father stayed there for almost a year when he was studying for his master degree almost 40 years ago. He always said it was an amazing place and that he met great people from all over the world. He loved to tell the stories of his memories there. May his soul rest in peace ❤️"
"I've been living at ISH for a couple of months during an executive university Summer program on 2009, great place and great people!"
