"Arrived to a great Valet experience. Allowed early check in. Room was hot until we figured out how to turn on thermostat. City view was inaccessible, due to broken roman style shade. 'Guest Svcs.' could not provide bus schedule for Kennedy Center. Though repair of shade was requested, was not attended to as quickly as expected cancelled request to fix."
"Very clean. Very nice staff. We had the best cleaning person! Not only was our room tended to daily ( which is unusual post Covid) it was Cleaned not just make the bed. Appreciated the room set up with the dressing room next to the bathroom. It was great considering I was sharing with a friend and not a family member. Great experience. Thank you."
"Pros: - Apartment style room with kitchenette, living room, bedroom, and bathroom. - Fantastic location. Lots of nearby sites and restaurants. - Clean and reasonably comfortable - Good hot water and water pressure. Shower head is high enough for tall people. - Noon check out - Room was pretty quiet Cons: - A little outdated. TVs are small and fuzzy. - Space is used oddly. The living room is huge, but the bedroom is small enough that the dresser had to be in the living room. - Bathroom is very small. Doesn’t even have a curved shower curtain rod, so the shower feels extra small. - Bed is OK, but not great. Comfortable at first, but then I woke up sore in the middle of the night. - Housekeeping was a little aggressive. They knocked on the door at 8 am on the day I was checking out, even though check out is at noon. - The temperature controls didn’t work. The fan blew warm air only, regardless of whether it was set to heat or cool. The only way I could cool the room was to open the window for a bit. - Colleagues who were staying in other rooms said they had poor water pressure, no hot water, and they couldn’t get the room to warm up."
"The rooms here are huge by typical hotel room standards. They include a full kitchen, and mine also had an anteroom/vanity to the bathroom as well as a generously sized foyer and huge closet. The location could be a bit closer to the Metro, but it is pretty close to the Western side of the Mall. Check in was efficient and friendly as was breakfast. It is worth noting that there are 2 buildings which make up this hotel, and there are thus 2 entrances (E St or F St). The buildings are connected through the small underground garage, and it can be confusing to go from one side to the other as the ground floor on one side is equivalent to the 1st floor on the other. The only dissatisfactions I had were: 1. There is a $60 surcharge when checking in for any incidental costs (to be refunded, I was told, within a few business days if no expenses were incurred). 2. The dresser drawers in my room were very musty-smelling. I didn't notice it until I pulled my clothes out to change and they had that smell to them. 3. The bathtub did not drain well. I'd definitely stay here again."
"State Plaza Hotel excellent location to visit historical sites. The hotel staff very professional, courteous and friendly. Please note parking $48.00 per day. The rooms are very clean. The living room was fine with a kitchenette. Also very clean. Overall, I loved the location which is actually part of the George Washington University. I felt totally safe. So much Security all around being that you are walking distance from the White House."
