"I gave this hotel 4 stars because I absolutely hate their system. You need you phone to open the door, get on the elevator, get out of the garage (which by the way has no service, so you have to walk to the highest level to be able to use your phone to get out. Or, you have to wait until someone comes out). It was too much. Other than that, this is a great hotel! It’s in a great location, very close to the ball park, and close to many other places you may want/need to visit during your stay. It’s also pet-friendly, so I was able to bring my dog. The rooms are very nice, and they were clean. We also had a cute little balcony which I loved. The staff were also very nice and helpful when needed. This is a nice hotel, you just have to be patient with their entry system. Other than that I have no complaints. This was a great hotel for our staycation."
"This desirable and centrally located apart-hotel was chosen as my place to stay after much research in an area of DC that is dense with options. The price was more than competitive and the reviews seemed pretty good so I went ahead and booked. This has to be hands down one of the most seamless and enjoyable apart-hotel experiences I've had. Everyone that works for placemakr was willing to help and greeted me with a smile, which is a departure from a lot of the other places I stayed in the US. They were kind and were on hand to answer any questions I had or make recommendations for places to see and go. The actual rooms were very clean, modern and had all the amenities that I'd need for a short/long stay. (Shower was great, too!) Overall, I'd recommend this place to anyone staying in the area and would recommend it over the competition in a heartbeat now that I've stayed in several other places locally, too. Thank you!"
"Coda on Half has been my home for 18 months, and I couldn’t recommend it enough. The housekeeping team maintains an immaculate building; the amenities spaces are just as pristine as the day I moved in as one of the first residents of the property. Maintenance request are hassle free and turned around quickly, and I’ve never had an issue getting a quick response to billing or mail inquiries. Management at Coda on Half regularly organizes free community events for residents, one of my favorite perks of residing here. They make an effort to build a sense of belonging & community, which I especially appreciated as I was new to the area. Yannick, Tiara, and Mary are the dream team and I am sad to be leaving them as I relocate for work. Anyone would be lucky to call Coda on Half home!"
"Please give Tiara a raise/promotion. I’ve been through multiple properties and had to deal with average/mediocre/unprofessional staff and management but so far, she has exceeded my expectations of customer service - she has a positive attitude and appears to enjoy her career. The other staff have been friendly to me as well and so far, moving to Coda on Half has been a pleasant experience. Why I chose Coda. I am renting here. I can only speak to the renting process and am unaware of what the hotel-side of things are. Make sure to matrix between the rental price, Google reviews, and other costs (parking, pets, etc.). I can’t stress how important the reviews are when apartment hunting. There were so many Navy Yard apartment complexes that had under 4 star reviews. Under 4 stars doesn’t necessarily mean the apartment is bad but I also look at the narratives behind the reviews. One of the Navy Yard apartments had a review of constant flooding issues with over 40 likes so that was a major red flag and dealbreaker. Coda has a 4.4 star review and along with the rental price in my budget, decided to make Coda my rental home. I am happy to rate Coda a 5 star so far and look forward to living here and hope for a continued positive experience."
"It’s a hotel but it also has apartments for rent so the hotel rooms are like apartments, which is really nice because for once, I didn’t have to worry about whether my room would have a mini fridge or not. It had a full kitchen, full fridge, nice bathrooms, nice beds. It was in a great location, right down the street from the Capitol. Lots of places within a block or two are open and still serve food ‘til 2am. I would 100% stay there again."
