"Keno Spruill gave a very nice tour of several units in this newly renovated building. The apartments look well maintained, and I liked all of the amenities. Pam at the front desk was also very welcoming!"
"I have been a resident of Ellicott House Apartments for 3 years. During the prior years, I found property management to be rude and inefficient. However, the new management and in specific Mr.Keno have demonstrated a strong interest in helping residents. Mr.Keno is a responsible, respectful and most importantly professional property manager. He has always been of assistance when asked."
"Pros: - Great Location in quieter part of DC near Maryland border and rock Creek Park, Rent controlled pricing in DC, Nice outdoor area, Indoor pool, tennis courts, and access to neighboring outdoor pool, 24 hour concierge service Cons: - Property Management team is absolutely awful and rude. 0 level of customer service. I've lived in a lot of different apartments and dealt with many property management teams, and this team is by far the worst. You have to call or email them multiple times to get any response and they will say they "never got your calls or emails". When they do respond, they are short with you and always in a bad mood. You would think that a customer servicing facing job would have people who are friendly at the very least. - Old HVAC system so you can't just cut on AC or heat whenever you want. They are only available at certain times of the year (Heat only usually from November 15-April 15 no matter what the weather is) Overall: Don't recommend moving here because of how bad management is. Until they make major staffing changes, look elsewhere in the area to a place where the property management treats you with respect."
"Do not be tempted by any offers of a 'free month' and stay FAR away from this place. After my second year here ends, I will NOT be renewing my lease. Management is awful and unresponsive, we are never kept in the loop anymore if hot water is broken or another core utility isn't working. My windows have been leaking when it rains for over a year now and the multiple attempts I've made to have maintenance fix it have resulted in nothing. Multiple packages have been "lost" over the past year (I've had photo proof of their deliverance to the front desk) and there is a constant smell of weed both in the halls and wafting into MY unit from the vents connected to the unit above mine. Not to mention, as another reviewer stated, in the first few months in which I moved here, my unit was flooded. Absolutely awful. For a place 15 minutes from either grocery store/metro, they act like they're the only option around and can treat their tenants as if they're stuck here."
"Honestly pretty disappointed with this place. Have lived here for 5 years and it was great the first couple of years. I wish I knew the real issues before I transferred to a one bedroom for another year. This place is close to work and dog friendly so I thought this place would be ideal for a little while. Management is disorganized and to tout this place as luxury living is stretching the truth. I was supposed to start my lease on the 23rd but they pushed it back two days. On the day I was supposed to get the keys, I called and emailed the leasing office to let me know when to pick up the keys. I only got the keys when I went to to the leasing office to inquire if they had seen my email or gotten my messages. They only had one set of keys ready and when I went back to get the other set, the extra key didn’t even work. Attached are the pictures from my “new” apartment from when I went to inspect the unit before moving my stuff in. I sent these to management as well. To charge a luxury price and provide subpar apartments is not right. Edited to add pictures of the kitchen"
