Gateway Park Apartments

"Upon my initial move to Gateway Park in the fall of 2012, it was an exceptional place to reside. The staff was outstanding, promptly addressing repairs. However, over the years, the location underwent multiple changes in ownership, each time diminishing the quality of living. My stay at Gateway Park from 2012 to 2023 turned into a regrettable experience. The past five years have been particularly challenging, exacerbated by statewide rent increases. The once-helpful staff became unresponsive, and repairs took an unreasonably long time. For instance, my washer and dryer malfunctioned, and it took over a month to receive a replacement. Had I not inquired about using another unit, they would have assumed I'd find a solution on my own. During this time, break-ins surged, and someone attempted to steal my catalytic converter, resulting in a $5000 insurance repair. When I urged the staff to replace the broken gated fence, down for almost a year, I was told it couldn't be done until the "out-of-stock" security camera arrived. The manager's response was dismissive, suggesting that theft of such devices is widespread, and I should simply "deal with it." Gateway Park is plagued with numerous issues, including a high rate of evictions, rampant theft, and a lack of support from the staff. I strongly advise everyone to steer clear of this place."

"One of the worst apartment to live at. Cabinet draws broke mutiple times all they did was put wood glue on them instead of replacing the draws. Leasing office is slow to respond and does not work with you when a little behind on rent. Suppose to be a gated community but. The gate was broken the whole time we lived there and my moms car got stolen from there as well and the leasing office was no help as they don't have cameras. All they care about is getting their money and thats it. Do not recommend this place at all."

"DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!!! I moved here two years ago.. in the last year these apartments have gone down significantly!!!! I come home from work, there’s people standing around outside in the parking lot, multiple groups of men sitting down in parking spots, sometimes I get out of my car and there’s a crowd of people hanging around outside . If you care about where you live this NOT the place for you. The parking lot is full of trash!!!!!! Loud music on the regular, lots of kids running behind cars and playing with balls in between cars. My car has been hit by balls from kids playing in the parking lot!! When we moved in the dryer wasn’t working and the stove top was completely shattered. The sink let’s out a foul water/odor when the dishwasher runs and the insulation is very poor, it leaks cold air from doors. The gates are ALWAYS open, there is no security here. I will say maintenance is pretty good about following up with work orders, but that’s the only good thing I can say about this complex. Lots of damaged blinds and junky porches around this complex…. TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE!! I’m embarrassed to live here and I can’t wait until my lease is up! My car was keyed in the parking lot!!!!!! My car has been damaged from other car doors, the residents here suck just as bad as the leasing office. Tired from work? Good luck finding a parking spot!!! I wish I would of listened to the reviews before I moved in. Save yourself the headache. BEWARE*** There’s been sanitary napkins (dirty bloody period pads) in the parking lot!!!!!!"

"Property is properly maintained, environment is clean and safe. The maintenance crew is timely. Thanks to Property Manager Brenda, and maintenance staff, crew member Erik, I had all matters I requested assistance too resolved in less than two days, or should I say one day and a half. There’s not much more that I can ask for based upon the fact I lived in apartments that have [no] parking space, no park environment, no lake front, no place to walk or jog your dog or bike. So those who complained, go buy a house!!"

"From the outside, the place looks newer and decent. At just a small scratch, this place is aweful. They dont answer phones during the time they say they will, no customer service, to resolutions, and they cost people unnecessary money by allowing them to be prepared to move having paid for moving arrangements and all. -       I applied 3/25/20. -       I had clarifying questions, so I emailed the office email addresses.  Response times were an average of 3 days. -       I leased 1617, a home that I was told had been ready a while. MI date to be 4/10/20. -       I was finally told I could see the home and 2 others for a referral. -       On 3/6/20, I went to take a look at 1617, 1626, and 2226. -       All of the homes were not move in ready and filthy. The best condition was 2226. -       I immediately asked to speak with Brenda(ASM) or the CM. I was told that they were swamped dealing with payment plans for existing residents, but would reach out. -       I then emailed Brenda next day and informed of my findings(email chain below). -       I was given an option to take a look at the same FP in another location. -       I stopped by today to look at apartment homes 1811 and 2121. -       Those homes were definitely not ready in addition(no fridge, not trashed, etc) to the grounds in front of building being horrendous, visibly broken window, and music blaring in the home below 2121. -       I informed Brenda of my findings. She informed me that she walked 2121 with the housekeeper and didn’t see my findings. I then showed her photos. Reached out to superiors and they weren't any help. Found another apartment nearby. Beautiful inside and out. Management doesn't even need to respond. I know a poor management team when I see one."
