"PLEASE !!!!!! DON’T MOVE HERE !!!!!!!! Been in this place over a year and will not be renewing my lease. This is the worst place to move into and not safe for kids. Leaving drugs throughout the apartment and people sleeping on stairs and not secured safety for anyone. They have roaches/mice and people using hallways as restrooms and trash dump everywhere. Security doesn’t help anything and never around when you need them. Find something better."

"I moved out a few weeks ago. I was a good tenant, paid my rent, and left things in good shape. I received an email with a total final amount due for utilities, etc. I then tried to log into the portal to pay. My portal access was turned off due to having moved out. I then began calling the leasing office. It took a week before anyone answered. I asked her if I could pay by card over the phone. I was told I had to bring a money order in person. I said I could not because I don't live nearby anymore plus I am working when the leasing office is open. She told me an assistant manager would call me with an alternative. No one has called. I have called multiple times a day for weeks. No one calls me back EVER. On Saturday I finally reached someone named Rosalina. She looked up my account and said I don't owe anything but that the assistant manager would call me on Monday to tell me what I owed. Now it's Thursday and still no call. I just called again and no one answered. This is what living in the Avantus is like. No one helps you, calls you back, or helps with issues. I will keep calling. I'm sure no one will get back to me. Irritating."

"I will start of by saying this is my father and I 2nd time living here. The first time it was perfect wonderful living here no problem what so ever. This time around we moved into our apartment their was a big stain in the middle of the living room floor, which says they do not clean or if they did they did not through clean or have pros do it. We used to be able to throw our trash out via the trash chute now we have to put the trash in a trash can and wait for a trash service that is suppose to pick it up and take it to the chute at night. Some times they don't do that, and causes they the whole apartment hall to stink. The office staff in not so bad except they have gone through 3-4 manager and 3 or 4 different group of staff members. The heat is ridiculous the heat didn't work over the Christmas holiday, and when the heat does work it doesn't feel like it is working, it seeps out of wall heaters. Roaches being found once in a while and me and m dad are clean people. I will be honest some of the resident don't keep their kids under control when they are out of school they will be running up and down the halls. Suppose to be secure buildings but gates are always kept open, sister lived in the ulster building and her car was broken into, homeless people sleeping in the stair ways. The only reason we live here because it was the only cheap apartment for us, but trying to move into a house in a year or two. Elevators work fine but then breaks down and they take forever to repair."

"DO NOT LIVE HERE YOU WILL REGRET IT !!! My experience living here has been terrible, Avantus apartments has to be the worst place I have ever lived at. I have lived here for almost 2 years and nothing good has come from living here. From the homeless people living in the building, no water or hot water at all, people trying to steal cars, trash all over the place, the police or fire department here almost every week. A household member almost got their car stolen last night due to the “security gates” never being closed . There are supposed to be “courtesy patrol” but I have never seen anyone patrolling anywhere in 7 months. Not to mention packages being stolen and mailboxes being broken into with people stealing mail. On 4th of July there was an active shooter in the building . This place is a joke and a dump but god forbid the leasing office looks bad they just had it renovated and when going in there you would think you’re going to get a really nice luxury apartment WRONG this is all a scam. Went down to the office to talk about these problems and the property manager was getting irritated and started getting snippy with us VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. THIS PLACE IS A HUGE JOKE AND I WOULDNT RECOMMEND LIVING IN THIS DUMP TO ANYONE"

"Ownership seems like they’re trying to get this place up to luxury. There are some problems that are simple fixes but they don’t fix. Despite problems I still decided to renew my lease. Problems include: not having gate openers available. The trash compactor and compactor holes are to small for the shoot so its always jamming/overflowing. Trash must be put in the hall for pickup so its there all day. You have to pay for parking even though spots aren’t assigned. Washer/dryers don’t work. Appliances in room are at end of useful life and are getting changed out as they brake. Elevators work but can be pretty dodgy. Water has to be shut off weekly for repairs. Occasional power outages. Fire department is there often. Sinks and tub were dirty with dried paint on move in. Front office people can be dismissive if things aren’t going well for you. Nobody cleans up after dogs in dog area. There are good things like: new carpet/flooring, walls and ceiling in the main hallways. Garage no longer floods ever time it rains. Elevator interior has been renovated. Apartment had new flooring and has reasonably up to date style. Excellent new door sign’s available. Maintenance is efficient when fixing issues. New pool is excellent. Gym and social lobby is very nice."
