Reviews of Uptown Square Apartment Homes
"This will be my 3rd lease I sign with Uptown Square Apartments. This place is perfect for me. With the brick sidewalks, strung colored lights and campus like safety it brings a sense of peace. The convenience of being close to downtown is definitely a plus for m"
"Can't wait to move out of here. The parcel service has been down for a month so they put the packages in a random room that has restricted hours. With how much we pay in rent they should have been able to have parcel pending fix the package room by now. And if you're going to throw the packages in a random room maybe consider adjusting the HID key card hours or at least tell us what the hours are so we don't go over there then have to turn around because we can't access our packages. Not a huge deal ig but not what I want to deal with after being woken up at 2am by another fire alarm (which has been happening almost weekly in our building)."
"If I could give 0 starts I would. This has been hands down the worst apartment experience I have EVER had. Stay far away! Not only have I had a persistant mold problem that they either paint over or straight tell me thats just " the smell of the paint they use " since I moved in. But now after a tremendous amount of flooding from water mains bursting 2 weeks ago and flooding mine and many other units. I still dont have a habitable space sinve 1/15/24 and it is now 1/28/24. Not only have the property managment done the absolutely bare minimum in keeping communications with us about my unit but it has had water seeping up from the kitchen floors up until two days ago. I have only gotten repeat copied and pasted "update emails". But after going in circles with the office staff about an updates on my unit i became frustrated and threatened legal council. DO NOT DO THAT. The entire property staff has been instructed to not speak to me at all so now i get no updates. I was really patient and understanding at first because i know I am not the only one who is effected by these floods. But I have a severly asthmatic and special needs child so it isnt safe for us to stay in that unit. Nothing was ever offered to us other than asking if we can stay with friends or just holld up in the bedroom even though i cant use my kitchen and livig room space. Ive spent over $800 dollars in hotels fees to just be told "thats what you have renters insurance for." Below will be photos and videos of what this property management deems habitable and its progression. I wanted to like this place so bad because its a nice neighborhood, close to work and its secure because I am a DV survivor and a single mother.. But this is so sad that this is deemed acceptable in any way whatso ever. Stay far away and find another place besides Uptown Square. I wish i lived somewhere else becsuse this was the worst decision I have ever made. I'm very sad and disappointed. Do not move here. I wished I didnt."
"RUN FROM THIS PLACE! I have lived here for 3 years. It's always something. They cycle through staff so regularly they don't even know each other. They always choose the cheapest fix. The main reason I stay is because the Indi (and ONLY the Indi, don't be caught off guard like we were that all the pictures are of it and not the 90% of just regular plain apartments) is a neat industrial design and it's in a great location. The first floor had a section that needed redone and they chose to just fill it with regular concrete and it looks ridiculous. Before too long it'll look just like any other apartment complex if they keep it up. If you have issues with your neighbors, like the ones below us that let their dog bark for hours straight while my husband is trying to work from home, you're on your own. Talking to multiple staff members gets you either ignored or told they will "talk to them about quiet hours" which who knows what the hell that means. Oh and don't waste your time trying to follow the rules about parking. I pay $1800 a year to park our vehicles here and it's not worth the money. Just piggyback off someone going in or get in through the gate that is broken every other week. They have NEVER towed anyone in the 3 years I've lived here and over a dozen cars sit in the garage for months without passes. Even if they did tow someone now, the $300 it costs to get it out is way less than the thousands I've spent legally parking in there. Oh and if you change vehicles just expect it's going to take two weeks, 6 people, and 3 visits to the office to get it accomplished. They'll also nickel and dime you $25 for a new sticker. This place is a joke unless you enjoy having your rent going to "Wine Down Wednesdays" where the staff and a few residents can drink your money away."
"WORST!!! Called and texted several times to adjust my appointment. No one answered. Decided to drop by anyways. Entered the leasing office and received nothing but attitude, like it was an inconvenience but yet two people were sitting in the leasing office. They said building is so much in demand and they had no to one show it. Didn’t seem like they were interested in customer service or doing their jobs. Steer clear. This place near homeless alley on 22nd St. Then I read the other reviews. I should have read them first. Save your time and keep walking."
