"Lots of positives. $750 for a downtown 2 bedroom is amazing. The rooms are clean, elevator works great. Very few problems, but the reason why we are moving out is terrible We are moving out because for the last 3 months all laundry machines have been down. We have had to go sit in a laundry mat for 90 minutes every week for months. This isn't being fixed soon either, the land lady is really nice but nobody is actually fixing the laundry. Yes it's next to a fire station, but they usually turn off their sirens at night. I've never been woken up before Also parking is bad. Either pay a meter everyday 9am-9pm, or you can pay $75 to park in a lot really far away. There are risky spaces you can park, but you might be towed. Without the laundry and parking issue, easily 5 stars for the price"
"Pros: Very affordable and great proximity to downtown. Rather quiet even though there are quite a few apartments on every floor. Cons: Inattentive landlord who was very difficult to get in touch with. If you're trying to get a hold of her after she is out of the leasing office, good luck! Communal washing/drying machines were always needing attention. I think they are updating the security features of the building but definitely could've been better when living there. Overall, if you're looking for cheap and close to downtown Omaha, you're in luck. Don't go looking if you're looking for all sorts of amenities or a super cleanly building. You get what you pay for."
"I use to live at Union Plaza almost 10 years ago and I loved it when I was there. I really loved my apartment I could see everything downtown. I never really used my lights. Because all I had to do was just open up my blinds to my windows at night and just let the lights shine in."
"The union plaza apartments were arguably the worst experience of my life. I have literally been homeless, so personally I could get past all of the mice, homeless people camped in the lobby, paper thin walls, and the thick dank smell of pot coming from 2/3rds of the units. What I couldn't get past was how awful our HVAC was. The insulation on the building leaves a lot to be desired. Our only bill for a small two bedroom apartment was OPPD. That bill would regularly be in excess of $300, no matter the season, because of how horribly insulated the apartment was. On top of that, the HVAC didn't even keep in comfortable in our apartment. In the winter at night it was difficult to keep the temperature above 60 degrees. In the summer during the day we couldn't get the temperature below 85 degrees. After months of begging and pleading NP Dodge finally let us out of our lease. This building is literally the worst place I have ever lived and I would encourage anybody looking at this building to call OPPD and find out how much utilities are before moving in."
"For the price, I'd live here 8/10 times. If you own a car, you might need to find a parking lot as this building does not have its own. If you're comfortable with street parking, there's plenty of spots available all day for a quarter an hour barring the Orpheum Theater rush hours. The building is next to a fire station, so expect the unexpected sirens going off on a fire-truck at any time in the 24 hours of a day. I like the apartment I rent a lot, it's roomy, has gigantic windows which I love, and a spectacular view of downtown. The building has a laundry room on every floor. They remodeled the hallways a month ago. I believe there's a coffee shop in the making on the 1st floor as well, which would be exciting. I'm happy living here. If you like the buzz of a busy city which I do, this is a nice place to live. And did I say cheap? It's a steal."
