"Dimitri was professional and very pleasant. It gave me his honest opinion and didn't try to sell me on service I didn't need. I highly recommend Universal appliance service."
"I have been using their service for many years and always call them when I need appliance repairs. They are very quick to respond, extremely knowledgeable about the appliances, have fair prices, and give good advice about whether the repair is worth the price to fix. I trust their honesty and knowledge. I highly recommend."
"I recently had an unfortunate experience with this appliance repair company when my built-in refrigerator's lights all stopped working. While their friendly scheduler and initial punctuality was promising, my overall encounter was marred by several drawbacks. First, when I politely requested to the tech lead that they remove their shoes or wear shoe booties, I received an annoyed sigh and side eye look to his partner. The situation worsened as they worked on the refrigerator lights. They neglected to use protective tape before prying with tools, resulting in scratches. To their credit, they applied touch-up paint without prompting, but the lack of initial care was frustrating. I was then presented with a parts estimate of $720 for three LED modules. These modules typically have a list price closer to $80 each, and third-party alternatives are available for as low as $20. I 100% understand marking up parts as part of the business, however my inquiry about the excessive difference, and the need for only three bulbs when all the lights were malfunctioning, were met with defensiveness and a lack of explanation. Furthermore, as some of the lights mysteriously began to work again, the technician suggested a need to also replace the LED controller board for an additional $380. When I sought clarification on the diagnosis process, the technician's responses were evasive and lacked transparency. Instead he takes the board to his truck and back, reinstalls it -- all without explaining why or what he learned, and repeatedly asking what I intend to do with his estimate. He ends up requesting I pay $499 upfront for him to order all the parts, and an additional $150 for labor. When I expressed my preference to pay once the necessary parts were on hand, and repairs completed, the technician got visibly upset and claimed it was not how the industry operates. In the end, I chose to pay the $75 service fee to have the team leave my home without a definitive diagnosis of my fridge's issue and the added frustration of cosmetic damage to my appliance. Based on my experience, I would advise caution when considering this appliance repair company. Updated response: I took photos of the damage your team did, and looked up the part number as $229 per light module seemed excessive. If anyone wants to check themselves, the part number is W10843339. If I wanted to repair myself, I would have done so from the beginning. There are also other companies that don't charge service call fees. Your team did not provide any diagnosis, or even provide a receipt. This was done to help out my mother-in-law, so I can't speak to the fridge purchase. However I'm not sure how warranty status of the fridge is relevant to the service your team should provide. For everyone else, I still highly recommend you use caution. Don't pay upfront if they are asking to come back on a second trip -- common way to extract more dollars from unknowing customers."
"Arrived on time. Did good work in a timely manner. Professional. I will use them again. The best I have found."
