"Still looking for safe shelter it's rough out there and it's getting worse not better they were friendly, I turned in a application for something I can afford,on my own I'm 63, I don't want roommates any longer. Just me and maybe a cat. Since my bf moved 759 miles away to San Diego last year, his lifelong dream . Happy for him but I thought they may be a help to me ,I'm handicapped now since. COVID and eight years of living in an RV, I had to get out of the RV but now I'm not so sure that was the right decision, being homeless makes you want to understand ,I understand the government is putting themselves ahead of us hiring 4-5 specialists per homeless person that's how they keep our money : from getting to us that's my Opinion of coarse I read through our county community manual a lot but end results are all about the same and 211 has teamed u with at least five workers have the things obe been"
"Horrid place! No activites, tiny apartments, high crime neighborhood and they change rules to fit their needs. They have no compassion towards their residents and will kick them to the curb without a second thought. People jump the fence and break into cars. Security here is really lacking. I don't think this is a good place for any senior to live. If you care about your loved one you will stay away from here."
"My Mom passed away and within 24 hrs. Lock was changed, I was told I couldn't stay in the apartment only had access 8 -4pm and 10 days to get out. Management makes it's own rules. Rent for the month was paid mind you! I'm disgusted by the the management."
"I stayed there for a few months in 13. It was one of the better shelters I have stayed at over the years. The food is terrible but I had food stamps. It does have lockers and storage so you dont have to carry it stuff around. It has its usually mix of people. Economic ones like , professional homeless, , broke gamblers , a few drunks but overall it is a good alternative to sleeping on the streets."
"Sadly I had to ask these people for help after losing my place to live. I have never been so mistreated. At first several of us who had no bed were made to sit on hard metal stools at a table all night long rather than at least allow us to at least lie on the floor. I left because I could not stand the suffering of that. I was given admittance to a run down over crowded house in a bad neighborhood and given a bunk bed next to an insane black woman who sneered at me and called me racial names all night long...the manager did nothing about it. I became ill during the night and was kicked out with no where to go at 3am. I was disoriented and I suffered a small stroke a block a way from the house and a young man called 911 saving my life..VOA is just wretched to allow this treatment of women in the Reno area."
