"Tip for people currently living at Saga Reno: if you write a poor review they start pretending to make progress with your issues. I moved out of November 21st, was not informed on whether or not I would receive a deposit until February 6, and still have not received my deposit as of March 22nd."
"If you are a UNR student and do not have a car, you should consider other options for housing as this apartment complex will give you an inconvenient and time-consuming commute without a car. It is typically a 20-25 minute walk to the UNR campus. The property is also not very accessible for public transportation as the nearest bus stop is also a 25 minute walk. The complex is also located on top of a hill, so you'll have to walk up a hill on your way back home from UNR and public transportation on top of the 25 minute walk. Pack Transit and Campus Escort are alternative options for transportation to campus without a car, but they have limited hours, are not in service during winter or summer months, and are not as available as public transportation. The property is usually very messy and unclean. Trash, broken bottles, dog poop are commonly found around the apartment complex. The units are decent and have a solid amount of amenities; each unit comes with a washer/dryer, a Roku TV in the living room and in each bedroom, and a porch. However, these units are also very overpriced, especially for the location issues mentioned earlier. I think I paid about $780 to live in a unit with 4 other people, and that number is without the cost of utilities and parking. Maintenance is okay in terms of service and time of response, but they will enter your unit without warning or permission. One time maintenance entered my room while I was sleeping. The elevators constantly break and are almost always filled with trash. The staff are friendly/helpful and I haven't had a negative experience with them."
"Agree with all the posts below-do not move in here. Horrible living conditions, no action or resolution from leadership at this complex regarding unsanitary living conditions that they refuse to to address. Mounds of bird poop on the balconies which was not cleaned upon move in and obviously is a reoccurring building issue that they say is now the responsibility of college students. See photos below. In addition, when I let the complex know of these conditions, and that I would be addressing with the Better Business Bureau, Toni the apartment mgr told me she has been alerting the Saga leadership team of our complaints, and that she would be ending the call as I was making threats by telling her I called the Better Business Bureau. In addition, Saga Reno promised the students a $1000 gift card upon move in for signing a lease in May of 2023 which was stated in the lease agreements that they would distribute the gift cards upon the start of the new lease which was August 14th and they still have not given these students their gift cards. When we have complained each month since August, they say they are on there way-with no sign of gift card."
"DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!! as of October 2023. Prices and utilities are really expensive, the buildings are always dirty with trash on the floor and theres always a lot of noisy construction going on. Also if I could describe the staff here it's that they always do the bare minimum and not much else. I had a food item delivered to the front office and the front office was complacent with letting it sit there for days without spending 10 seconds to look at the nametag and send me a text. The office also closes really early (6 pm) which sucks if you end up having a problem late afternoon and have late classes like I do. The walk to campus is also much further than you think (25+ mins to the closest building where classes are held) so it is recommended that you pay $100+ per month for a parking spot and drive to school if you do choose to live here. The price advertised for saga does not reflect what you actually end up paying when you account for ulitities and a parking spot (both of which have expensive rates)."
"Giving a One Star is being generous for this place. This will be my second year living here and I already regret it. First when we moved in back in August 2021 my bathroom was moldy and disgusting which the maintenance took two weeks to take care of. Which I had to take call in multiple times, in which they’re typical response is “we’ll take care of it soon.” Currently we’re dealing with the aftermath of a flooding of the whole apartment from THEIR faulty toilets and has been a nightmare to deal with. It’s been more than two weeks since it’s happened, and all they have done is have 15 fans in our place and that’s it. Once again we ask multiple times what is next and we’re told it’ll be “taken care of soon.” Good luck trying to call in the leasing office or even receiving a call back as more than likely it’ll be an answering machine that is no help. Would never recommend living here and save your money for something better"
