"No AC, got to over 88 degrees during stay several times. Windows don’t close all the way, so there are bugs in the condo often."
"This was the most unenjoyable place during our honeymoon. Feels like a retirement home. So many negative signs everywhere that don't fit the island vibes. They don't even allow kids to play Marco Polo in the pool. It specifically states on the pool rules that you can't play Marco Polo or any type of "horseplay" whatsoever. As I stated I am on my honeymoon and I do not have children with me, but I witnessed an older man coming to the pool to tell the children to stop playing. Such a stiff community, and then you have other resort s close by making a lot of sound at night. Kind of contradicts the quiet environment they're trying to force on the tenants. We met several other couples while here and none of them were happy about management at this property. Also, this place doesn't believe in windows that close nor do they believe in AC units. Very rundown ."
"We are using this Keauhou Punahele in this ten years. We are one of fan this condo. Very quiet around here. We can get relax in staying days. Easy to go Kailua Kona and Captain Cook, also Kona coffee belt road."
"Not pleased with VRBO or the resort. Some of it is the condo owners issue and others are the resort issues. 1) my biggest issue is with both the condo owner and the resort - cockroaches both in the room (one landed on me last night while sleeping - not a pleasant feeling) and all over the property (outdoor corridor to rooms, around dumpers, parking lot drains) 2) we choose this resort for the swimming pool - it was closed for several days with no updates either on the pool or in the office area. 3) distance from town/food & shopping - it is a mile walk to the closest shopping/food down a busy highway with no sidewalk on either side"
"We stayed here for a week during Ironman. Only seven miles from Kona and took 15 minutes with normal traffic to get to town, 25 minutes with heavy traffic. The condo we were in looked like it had been newly remodled. Had all cooking utensils, towels, and bedding plus anything you would need for the beach. Our condo, D205 had a gorgeous view overlooking the golf course and we could see the ocean. We got some fantastic sunset pictures! The condo complex was pretty much full but was quiet. But be advised the condos for the most part have no A/C. Ours had plenty of ceiling fans and floor fans and with the windows and doors open we were comfortable."
