Hertz Car Rental - Kona Keahole Airport

"Rented a vehicle for 2.75 hours not days! . Put 21 miles on it and filled up immediately before dropping it back off. They sent email receipt saying we used 8 gallons and brought it back at 70% even though it was full.. So supposedly their cars get less than 3 miles per gallon even if it were true?? oh… nobody will ever answer the phone there and VM is always full. Wonder why.."

"Zero stars for this Hertz location. We rented a car for one day during our honeymoon in August. Car had damage so we notified the Hertz employee. They tried to charge me a month later then I explained to them that we already notified an employee and provided them a picture. Overall experience, the car was dirty, had damage, tire was bald so you can hear road noise. I sent an internal feedback to Hertz since I am a Gold Member customer telling them about my bad experience. Now it's December and they are trying to file a claim of damage to the vehicle on my insurance. This is ridiculous!"

"Inefficient process for checking cars out. A single exit gate following a shuttle drop off means concentrated congestion. Contract is done at the gate driving up wait times and cars sitting idle. A worse experience if you’re a gold member or part of president’s circle that has to get a contract on departure. I used Turo last time I was here and that was at least twice as fast. Don’t make my mistake."

"We knew cars for rent can be scarce so on our trip to Kona Hawaii we made sure to have a reservation and prepaid for our rental car months before we arrived. We showed up to pick up our car and there were more than 50 people waiting for a car. I want to spend my vacation at the beach NOT hours at Hertz waiting for them to hand us the keys. Only 3 employees with seven stations that should be used when Hertz knows this many people are coming! I will say the driver of the Hetz shuttle from the airport was great!"
