"The “cozy corner” is not so cozy at all. It turns out it’s someone’s basement. We pulled up, knocked on the door, and the first thing she said was “is that kid yours?” She was our sister and brother in laws who didn’t even stay the night with us. After we checked out we got a very rude text message saying the baby wasn’t supposed to stay with us and on and On. When In fact she absolutely didn’t stay with us and she would’ve known that if she was a good host. She didn’t bring us a key when we checked in and when we pulled up later in the night the code she gave us didn’t even work so someone else who was staying there had to let us in. Very poor hospitality. The bathroom was apparently private to our room but most of our stay someone else was constantly in the bathroom. The walls of the room had dirt and dust everywhere, it was so hot and muggy. The fans didn’t help it at all. Don’t stay here out of desperation, sleep in your car! Save the money."
"Despite an exorbitant cleaning fee, the place is cluttered and dirty. I had to repair the toilet and the shower curtain rod during my one-night stay. The accommodations are stingy (one towel for two guests, only three spoons in the kitchen). The setting is quiet and secluded, the view is amazing, and the owner is very friendly."
"Pros: Room modern and attached personal bathroom was nice touch Quiet. Secluded (assuming this is what you want) Good parking TV in room Comfortable bed Separate entrance to get to room -No one home when arrived, but was able to phone owner and find key Cons: Main living room area very messy *Not* B & B as promised (had a kitchen area it you bought your own food) *No* laundry available as advertised *No* computer available as advertised (did have WiFi) *No* printer available as advertised (forget printing boarding pass) Room not clean upon arrival. (We spent time cleaning it with Wet wipes) *Why a "cleaning fee"? When I asked owner about some of these advertised discrepancies - she informed me that "everyone keeps asking me about these. I have to change my listing information". -Duh"
"So I missed my flight and was stranded at 12pm. I decided to book a one night stay here. I honestly give it 5 stars. I came here in a taxi and the owner was waiting outside for me. She is the sweetest lady I have ever met. The hospitality is amazing. She escorted me to my room. The room was very clean and so was the bathroom. Wifi and TV is provided here. This beautiful home is perfect for you if you are looking to be in a quiet area. I felt very comfortable and safe here. Not to mention the amazing view on her back porch. I recommended this lovely home to anyone and if I come back to Kona, I will surely stay here again!"
"We were shocked when we walked in the place. The house was cluttered and smelled. The kitchen was cluttered with things that don't belong in a kitchen, and the living space was a mess. Our room was ok and at least the sheets were clean; however, I could see the dust build up on the bookcase and furniture in the room. I was told we had a private bathroom, and I assumed it was an 'on suite'. I Guess I should have verified that; the bathroom was outside our bedroom - somewhat uncomfortable. It was also not very clean. I could see stuff on the countertop, which grossed me out. With all this mess we were charged a cleaning fee of $50. To me a Bed n' Breakfast place is as clean as a hotel and has a breakfast buffet, but when we went downstairs to the kitchenette, we were on our own to make something, plus this area was just as messy and dirty as the top floor. How disappointing this was. This was our first trip to Hawaii, and we wanted to be wowed; I guess I was wowed with shock and disappointment. The people were extremely nice, but you can't have that relaxed island ideology while running a business out of your home where people are coming from all over the world to stay. I could never charge anyone to stay in my house if it was in the shape this place was; I would be embarrassed. I ended up paying $131.00 and realized I should have just booked the hotel at the beach for the night instead. We would not recommend this place."
