Waimea Gardens

"Perfect for our first trip to the island. Super quiet at night, but still close to the beach, hiking, farmers markets, and more. Had everything we needed — beach chairs/towels, kitchen supplies, milk and breakfast foods, even flashlights for lava caves. No A/C, but we stayed cool at night by opening windows. Barbara & Charlie were so welcoming and we felt at home here."

"The cottage we stayed in was lovely! Comfortable and well-appointed. The bed was comfy and there was a wonderful open walk thru shower in the bathroom with an adjacent jetted soaking tub and fresh orchids adorning the counter. Barbara and Charlie were wonderful hosts with tips on where to go in the area. The grounds and yard were beautifully manicured, private, peaceful, with great views of the nearby mountains. They also provided some basic groceries in the refrigerator when we arrived so that we could enjoy our first morning breakfast there without having to rush to the store. It is centrally located. Hawi, the Kona and Kohl’s coasts, and Mauna Kea are all within an easy drive. We would go back again in a heartbeat!"

"I loved this place! Great location between hot, dry Kona and Kohala coasts and lush, green and wet Hamakua side. Accommodations were beautiful - stream, view of stunningly green hills, beautiful flowers, and even an outside garden shower that we used everyday. Our unit was quiet and private. Good cross ventilation kept our lodgings cool and comfortable, and our hosts, Barbara and Charlie, were great! I wouldn't mind living here every day!"

"Waimea Gardens is the best B&B ever! It was perfect in every way. We had a fabulously comfy bed and gorgeously decorated cottage, including a unique outdoor shower exquisitely surrounded by lovely orchids. Our living space was perfect and felt like home away from home! The Big Island was completely accessible from Waimea Gardens. The Kohala Mountains provide breathtaking views and so many rainbows. We loved our time at Waimea Gardens!"

"Best B&B I have ever experienced; Barbara and Charlie are wonderful people; the grounds are beautiful; it's peaceful. We stayed in the Ohana Unit which can easily hold 6 people, and there were only two of us! My daughter and I enjoyed it for 4 wonderful days. There's an outdoor garden shower - it has more amenities than a 5 star hotel! Loved it; can't wait to return!"
