"I'm writing this review halfway through my 7 day stay in the executive suite here. I come to HI regularly to visit family and this has become my go-to place. Not only are the rooms HUGE with a beutiful moutain view but the location is tucked away in a quiet area with some of the best food hidden food options in Waikiki. Now, onto my complaints. I've never had a sore word to say about this hotel until this stay. The Room: While the room itself has been great, every night after 7p the water gets only luke warm at best and water pressure is low. This has happened consistently since I checked in 3 days ago. Maintenance cam mid-day when the water is nice and hot so they could not diagnose the problem. I'm embarrassed enough to be "that guest" who is complaining (I called and complained again today). The evenings this week drop to 68 degrees so the last thing i want is a luke warm water. I get there is so much more important things to complain about in the world - but this is a hotel I am paying for and I would expect the plumbing to be able to support the amount of rooms it feeds (ugh... even having to write this is cringe but IDK how else to get the guest service team's attention). The fixture and appliances are definitely old - cupboards don't close completely (I stayed in the same room as previously and I felt oddly familiar with all the quirks of the rooms that had never been repaired), chipping paint and scuffs on corners, old toothpaste still on the walls, subtle yellowing of drapes. Basically, just a general feel that everything is old like an apartment you just moved into with a quick turn-over. The Staff: They are great! So kind. I have had 1 issue with one member of the service team who has be belittling in the way she has spoken to me and also confused me with another guest and the berated me for "losing your keys again!?". When i told her she was mistaken she insisted it was me instead of just completing the request I had originally approached her with. This identify mistake happened after she and I had shared 3 talks previously and I specifically introduced myself to her because I think it hospitable to do. She clearly say skin color, hair style and common issue and made assumptions. She's yet to apologize and I have shared this feedback with her co worker. okay.... those are my only two complaints. While the hotel has made noticeable upgrades since my last stay my overall impression of the service is that is is declining. I'll be sure to share an update at the end of my 7 day stay to confirm if things improved. Fingers crossed! ^_^"
"We have really enjoyed our stay so far -we still have 3 nights left. This is a very comfortable and cute hotel in a great location. It's close to many restaurants, shopping, beaches and also the Ala Moana Center. Rooms are very clean and comfortable and the staff has been really great. We have a great room overlooking the waterway and the mountains, and I've enjoyed seeing several rainbows this week. It's a cute hotel and I'd definitely stay here again."
"Great hotel that was exactly as described. Property is older (like most Waikiki hotels) but they have done a great job. Our room was comfortable, spacious, AC worked great, and had a little kitchenette which was very convenient. Hotel has beach chairs, umbrellas and extra goodies for guests to use. The location is excellent, walking distance to everything and with a biki bike station out front. What I loved most about this hotel though was the staff - they were so friendly, helpful and kind. Will definitely stay here again on a future trip - in Hawaii, I need something comfortable, safe and decent as I plan to spend almost of my time outdoors, not in my hotel room. This hotel is spot on for that!"
"I don't usually write reviews, but I was charmed by this place. Nestled in the heart of Honolulu, the Coconut Waikiki is a gem waiting to be discovered. From the get-go, the staff at the reception were incredibly welcoming and polite, making the check-in experience and our entire stay a delight. The room was spotless and cozy, though it's worth noting that some street noise drifted in during the evenings - but that's just the city vibe, nothing the hotel can control. Their valet service was both quick and reasonably priced, adding a touch of convenience to our stay. The best part? The location. It's tough to beat, and what's even better is the value this place offers. You get the prime location without the sky-high prices of some other nearby properties. A fantastic find for anyone looking for a great stay without breaking the bank in Waikiki. We'll stay again!"
"My 8-night stay was simply delightful. My trip was for surfing while working remotely. The location is perfect – close enough to everything but it was nice and quiet because it faces the canal side of Waikiki. The staff was very kind and responsive. The rooms were nice and clean. Small details with high impact: I really appreciated the filtered water dispenser in the lobby, the Kona coffee every morning, and the foam rollers in the gym. Would definitely stay here again!"
