"Older hotel which worked out well for us. Shower, beds, linens were very clean. Needs a few upgrades and perhaps some carpet cleaning/replacement. We were able to bring our dog - a big plus. Good location with lots of eateries and Ala Moana Shopping Center within easy walking distance."
"Had a doctors appointment on Oahu and I was booked to stay in this hotel. Staff was very nice. As soon as I walked into the room and went into bathroom roaches scattered. Many roaches. The room and whole floor I was on smelled like cigarettes and a hint of marijuana mixed with air deodorizer. Someone was moving out and stuff was all in hallway it seems people live in this hotel. Outside there was a lot of drug activity and homeless as we were approached. My son and I watched a man doing drugs outside as we walked up. I checked in had to go to my appointment and immediately came back to give room key within an hour of checking in and let them know I would not be staying. The rooms are very run down and dated and I can see the staff does try to clean but it’s just very worn out old rooms. The roaches were out in broad day light by the numbers and it was just too many issues that my son said he didn’t feel comfortable or safe there so we left and did not stay. This isn’t the place to stay if you’re on vacation. This is more of a weekly hotel people live in temporarily. The room was not refunded to my insurance company. Staff offered me another room but the amount of roaches were concerning and I didn’t want to bring any home in my suitcase. This place is a skip unless your are desperate. Staff was very polite so that I will give them."
"I had to live at the Pagoda for nearly two months while the Navy shipped my household goods over from the mainland. This place was great! That staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, the room was always clean, and the restaurant was decent (although sometimes the food was overcooked and dry). The pool area was clean and pleasant, and I had no problems with construction or traffic noise above the normal levels you would expect in any large city. The neighborhood felt safe enough to walk around at night, and the hotel is closely situated to plenty of shopping and good restaurants. It's a short drive to a number of tourist attractions -- Diamond Head, Punchbowl, Waikiki -- and about a 15 minute drive to Pearl Harbor/Hickam. Overall, I enjoyed my time here and I would be willing to stay here again in the future."
"Though it’s a little further from the beach it makes up for it with its hospitality and easy access to Walmart and many local stores and shops. There’s a sushi place to the right of it that’s the best I’ve had since California. They very clean and make sure your comfortable during your stay. They understand privacy and will ask if needing room service. Easy check in and understanding staff. I lost out key card like 6 times and they just giggled with me and got me a new one. Definitely a 10 out of 10."
"Pagoda Hotel is located in a central location within walking distance to Walmart, Target, the mall, and the beach. We also were able to catch the bus from around the corner to the college for our preview day while my daughter and I were there. While the area may look like it is in a slightly run-down neighborhood, it never felt unsafe, even in the evening when we were returning on foot. As for the rooms, they were simple but clean. I was very happy with the front desk and security personnel. They were so cheerful and helpful. Breakfast had to be paid for, but was fresh and handmade at the Pagoda restaurant next door and you are given coupons upon arrival as a guest. The only issues I had were that the pool closed at 6:30pm which meant we couldn’t relax in it after we got back from a long day out, there wasn’t a coffee bar in the foyer as advertised, and our towels were not replenished when we set them out as instructed leaving us without towels. Yes, we could have gone to ask for more, but we shouldn’t have needed to as they said they would restock them if you set out your used ones in the evening. To me all this is minor, but to someone else it may be a major thing so I mention it here. If you want top-notch service, this isn’t the place for you. If you want a simple place to go that is clean and has friendly staff, this was a nice hotel."
