"This woman should not have a license. Watch out!! Went in for ADHD testing and came back with the following results - "It is not possible for you to have ADHD because you have too high of an IQ". The testing was completely inappropriate for an adult (added 1+1 among other things) and did not have the clinical evaluation that is REQUIRED to diagnosis an adult. Her testing is a JOKE and simply an unethical and should be illegal, cash grab. Also, IQ has NOTHING to do with the possibility of someone having ADHD. She told me - 'you just have anxiety and a couple years with treatment with me, your symptoms will likely go away'. I got testing done at an actual legitimate ADHD testing facility - results came back with combination - severe presentation ADHD. They were horrified with her "ADHD testing" model. This woman is a charlatan that has no business in mental health. FYI Heather, you can not talk therapy someone out of having ADHD. Its a neurodevelopmental disorder. That means your brain developed differently than a neurotypical brain in the womb. I suspect you do not understand that. Read a book and seriously - get a new job because you are a danger to people's well being. OMG YOU REVIEWED YOURSELF?! Wow, just wow...... You are shameless."

"I just came across this post and in California an LMHC is the same as an LPCC. It's a Master's level degree. A PhD trains for 4-5 years, passes comprehensives, writes a dissertation which most often is testing a hypothesis, with a comprehensive literature review, the experiment, results and statistics to address it's validity. This has to pass a committee. Then when the PhD is awarded there is often more supervision. It's 3000 hours of supervision in total to become a PhD. In California it is the license and number which must be displayed on a business card e.g., Alice Miller, PhD, PSY 11111. It is unethical to indicate by omission or commission the LICENSE that is earned."

"I was trying to delete all of this comment but cannot. Edited comment: I think professionals should reveal their credentials from the start. Nowadays counselors work under a psychologist and try to fulfill that role. Some claim to work as a team but they really don’t. A LMHC is not a Dr. A social worker is not. It wouldn’t matter except the level of professionalism isn’t there in many cases."
