Reviews
"Recently I have been in 2 studiounits that are tired, but much better than the previous units I've reviewed.I have adjusted the stars of my review. The public areas are much nicer. The worst unit in almost 20 years. Leaking water pouring from the bathroom ceiling light fixture. Totally ruined a vacation. Terrible service. Every single thing about the unit was poorly maintained or not maintained at all. Do not waste your money, or risk your family vacation. Stay somewhere else. The Worldmark units are in such poor condition that Maui County should not allow occupancy. Just to test Worldmark, we even threw away points for a night on a different trip so we could see another unit, and we found it filthy, in disrepair, without the correct number of beds, one bed was ruined and could not be used. Dryer was filled with filth. Microwave was broken."
"This is not really a resort. The front desk closes at five. Only one beach towel per person is allowed for the entire visit. If there's an after hours problem and you call for a assistance it goes to an answering service where no one actually answers. Items in the unit were broken or not working. For example, the bedroom light and free standing fan. The unit wasn't entirely clean. There were a few human hairs left in the bathtub shower. The bedroom had a bit of a funky smell. There is no air conditioning, the front door which opens to an open air hallway, has a locking screen door with a grate on it, so a crossbreeze can be created when the sliding door is open. Leaving the front door open gives up all privacy in the kitchen, dining room, living area of the unit, aa anyone walking down the hallway has a clear view in. The sliding door screen does not block and does not have a grate on it. I was on the second floor and it felt like it would be pretty easy for someone to gain access through the sliding door. On the upside, the view of the ocean is very good. It is difficult to have direct access to the beach as giant sandbags are piled up to try to prevent shoreline erosion. World mark is giving up the lease on the units at The Valley aisle in early 2024. I believe that that is the appropriate move on their part. While in my opinion, world mark doesn't necessarily have the highest standards for their property being that many of the properties are older and could stand to be refreshed., the general low level of service and overall condition of the unit here does not meet the world mark standard."
"We are World mark owners, and have never been so disappointed in our condo. Large front burner didn’t work, furniture was so old that there were large lumps and bumps. Could hardly pull the lever for water in the bathtub. The bathroom sink stopper would not release to drain water. Screen door has faulty handle, so would not always release to let you out. Many cracks in patio window. We felt like we were put into the dumping area, where all throw away things go."
"I was literally worried sick about coming here after reading reviews and our trip certainly was not ruined. I was pleasantly surprised about our oceanfront view and the fact there was a beach you could snorkel off of. Everything seemed clean (namely bathrooms and beds) and everything was in working order. We even had wifi that was free (I'm hoping Worldmark has finally started providing that for free at all locations). The lack of A/C was not a big deal, with the front screen door open (which locks), there was plenty of breeze to keep the room comfortable. The washer/dryer combo was huge and worked well. And the maintenance person was lovely. I'll explain why we had to use him... Upon arrival everything looked so clean and I was so relieved. After two days with us being extremely careful about cleaning up and not leaving food out we started seeing some tiny cockroaches. Okay fine, but then they got more plentiful and bigger. We contacted the front desk who got maintenance to come up relatively quickly who sprayed and put baits out. A couple days later we had more so another call to maintenance who tried some other means. We left three days later and in that time-no more bugs. I'm from Colorado-I don't do bugs, so should we expect to see some in Hawaii? Honestly, I'm not sure but I think the resort can do better. In terms of service, I am highly disappointed in how Worldmark is basically abandoning this property. Little details, especially in what you expect in quality from Worldmark is not there. We checked in before 5pm, but the fact that you even have to worry about timing seems a little nuts. We were given a set of beach towels and when asked where we could exchange for fresh ones we were told to wash them ourselves. Now I am perfectly capable of doing so and washed 3-4 times during our trip, but again for a "resort", this seems a little ridiculous. We still had a lovely trip, but Worldmark needs to do better with this property."
"Awful service! We arrived a little after 5pm and the lobby desk was closed. A sign instructed us to call a number so that we could get our room # and we were on hold for 30 minutes. Once they give us our room number, we were instructed to punch in a number to a lock box that gave us a single room key. The entire process was confusing and frustrating to say the least. This place is way outdated, and wouldn't recommend anyone to stay here. Worldmark should embarrassed to have their name on this place. I refused to stay a second night."
