"Our 3 year old, 100 lb. Bernedoodle, Ziggy, was recently rushed to South Metro late in the evening for displaying concerning behavior. He was dropped at the door and went in with my spouse. Before I could even park the car, he had been taken back due to concern for "bloat" or Gastric Dilatation and Volvulus (GDV). This was our worst fear and truly the mother of all pet emergencies. Every second counted and the staff were incredible and acted with urgency. Dr. Bryan is an angel on earth and saved our beloved pet's life. We received frequent updates and this nightmare of a situation was eased by his kindness and communication. Ziggy was in the hospital over 24 hours and Dr. Bryan came in for his next shift early just to snuggle our pup. We cannot thank him, or the South Metro staff, enough. Ziggy has a long recovery ahead of him, but he is getting lots of snuggles from his fur brother and grateful parents. THANK YOU!"
"My cat, Roo was emergency rushed into the hospital 2 weeks ago as he was unresponsive and seemed to be dying/was deceased. The staff were incredibly quick and rushed him back and unfortunately he did pass. I was utterly distraught but the staff was incredibly kind, gentle, and sympathetic. They walked me through my options, and let me stay with him as long as I needed. The cremation process was fairly quick with a 5 business day turn around, and gave me a paw print mold, multiple sheets of ink paw prints, and sent a sympathy card. These are all things that meant a whole lot to me. One of the most horrific and traumatic experiences I’ve faced as a pet owner and the staff acted with such grace and compassion, which made a horrifying day a little less horrific. Bill came out to about a grand but due to the emergency and quickness, I didn’t take any issue for the hefty price. A huge huge thank you from the Boulting Family to the South Metro Emergency Vet Staff on Monday, February 19th."
"On December 20th, my 8 year old Springer Spaniel had pneumonia, and took a turn for the worse so I brought him here. After tests & x rays, Dr. David told me his best chance of survival was a $10,000 surgery at the U of M, but did not recommend due to the success rate, his age, and quality of life even if it is successful. Next was to euthanize him then and there. I felt like I was being pressured to do it then and there. I didn't, and went home and talked to our local vet and a family friend who is a vet about other options. After 1 month of antibiotics, which I was told by Dr. David wouldn't work, we got the all clear yesterday. If I had listened to Dr. David, this dog would not be here. Here he is yesterday, finally back in the field doing what he loves."
"We could not have been more grateful for the care and courtesy that South Metro Animal Emergency Care showed us when we needed it most. Our cat (nearly 20 years old) Sammy fell ill very quickly on a Saturday morning in December. My wife and I thought this might be the end for him, but we weren't sure, so we brought him to the emergency vet. They confirmed our fears and told us that Sammy was in very poor health. From the Nurse to the Doctor, everyone was kind, patient, and very compassionate. They explained everything, including all options to treat, or not to treat Sammy. In the end, we made the difficult and painful decision to not treat our poor cat, and again the Vet handled everything with grace and care. We wound up getting a nice clay paw print of our guy. While we miss him dearly and think about him every day, we know that the whole situation was made as good as it could be by South Metro Animal Emergency Care. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts."
"I have brought many pets here, from family member dogs, my personal dogs and my foster dogs, the staff are always so kind, so patient. Wait times are minimal. Prices are a little steep, but very comparable to other ER/after hours clinics. I do not mind paying a little more for quality care. I would much rather drive the 40 minutes here vs 10 minutes to the "emergency" vet down the road from me."
