"I was asked for my birth date, in order to buy a carpet knife. I offered to show id, so she could verify my age. I'm 59. She said no, she had to enter my exact birth date, so the system can save it. This is a privacy fail. Went across the street to Menards. They let the old guy buy a carpet knife without needing to know his birth date."

"Went there because it's closer than my usual choice of big-box home improvement store; looking for a specific Dremel tool accessory; they only carried the more spendy option,so I waited and wandered the store, before I found serrated utility blades, that could work. Took'm home, saving money and hoped. Still using the 5-pack I got(a month later) Home Depot saved that day!"

"Stop asking if we'd like to save money by opening a Home Depot Credit Card! All of us customers are sooo sick of your employees asking everytime we go in there! Sometime I go in there 4 or 5 times within a couple hours, and the same person will ask, even when they knew I was just in there! At least 1 time though, another employee looked at me and said "I'm not going to even ask you". I said thank you and told him I knew it was just part of his job, but is extremely annoying! He agreed but said it was required to push the credit cards on customers. Also, why are you charging tax in clothing in Minnesota when there isn't clothing tax in this state?? As for the "sales", I like how the laser level said it was dropped from a lower price of $74.97 to $49.97. But then you walk to the tool isle, find that same level/sku, and shows it was previously at $69.97, not $74.97. Marketing at its finest, thinking the consumer won't notice... And 1 more thing... the prices are higher now at Home Depot than at Menards. And at Menards, I also get 11% off! So go there if you're not looking for a specifix brand of something. And they won't charge tax on clothing either, p/MN law"

"Ordered a kitchen aid dishwasher and received tracking information when it shipped and was out for delivery. They never attempted to delivery it per the tracking email and rather than communicate anything with us someone, and they can't say whom or why, canceled and refunded the order. Call center customer care lady was totally apathetic. She literally couldn't have cared less about our major inconvenience. Her solution was to try ordering another one. Why so you can mess it up again? Will never spend another cent at home depot."
