Reviews
"The Bessemer staff are friendly and care about providing great customer service. I have been living in my unit since September and have not had any issues so far. My unit was ready at move in besides some cosmetic wear and tear from the previous tenant. I would recommend The Bessemer over other newly constructed buildings that I have lived in. The team is prompt and really do go out of their way to make sure everything is up to standard. However, this was my experience so it may vary from person to person."
"*Edit: 2nd theft from bike storage room within one month's time. It's early October 2023, and Bessemer management happens to set the bar low. My locked ebike was stolen out of the designated, (worthlessly) security-camera-equipped storage area. The rack is still broken and Bessemer has not done anything about this incident. Management will readily send out an email when a vehicle is mis-parked in their garage but refuses to do so when $1,500 worth of property is stolen from inside the building in a (not actually) secure location. I was told from a corporate employee, Mary, that "things get stolen" and "only a series of thefts would warrant a building-wide email" and that providing video footage of the incident would simply be way too much effort. Management needs to step up."
"The rent is very expensive for the lack of security, maintenance, area and amenities offered by the building. Do not be fooled by the "luxury" they offer with their apartments. If you really value your money, dignity and want your own safety and care for those you love, NEVER think about moving here. Do not make the same mistake as me and those who are harmed right now. I've been living here for over a year and a couple of months ago everything started to become like a nightmare. Basically, renewing my lease for another year was the worst decision I've ever made. Security is non-existent as is the respect and attention given to the owners of the building. Homeless enter the building, steal the packages in the package room and nothing is done but to blame the residents for the occurrence. A couple of days ago my sister and mother went into the room to get some orders from Amazon and were met by two homeless people opening the packages and putting them inside two luggage bags they had with them. Thank God they were lucky that nothing unfortunate happened to them since the people ran away once they saw them. But, what about if had not been the case, who is responsible for it? We had to go directly to speak with the leasing office about reimbursements and discussion of future security, and the response we received was: "the residents are to blame for those people coming in and this kind of thing happening". Several times homeless have tried to enter the building when you enter or leave the parking garage. And there has been a broken window for over a month that to this day, they have not fixed. They have been required to put up 24-hour security, which is something I have seen normal in all the places where I had previously lived, and their response is that it is not possible. It is like they really do not care about the life and safety of the people who trusted them at the time of renting."
"I have two friends that live in this building and I have seen their slow decline in their interest in staying there. The building USED to be good with the old management. But in one week ish there have been two gun shot situations right behind the building and the management has refused to address the situation. The rooms are nice but the management is not. Both of my friends would like to move out due to the lack of care in safety and well-being of tenants. Also despite these situations there is a lack of proper security and they simply do not care at all. They are also highly dismissive of peoples concerns which is truly terrible. I would highly advise that you save your coins and DO NOT MOVE HERE!"
"I have lived here for less than a month and I can honestly say this is the worst apartment I have ever lived in. Cars are stolen and broken into almost on a daily basis. The management lied to me before signing the lease that "its a pretty safe area and nothing every happens to cars on the street". People experiencing homelessness have tents surrounding the back of the building and are constantly trying to get in. There are absolutely no security measures taken by the apartment so consider yourself alone when it comes to securing yourself and your property. The units are cheaply put together and it is very obvious. Don't make the same mistake I did. Find somewhere else to live!"
