"My family and I have lived in Plymouth Ponds for just under 2 years; and in our time living here we’ve experienced some pretty shady activity from management and maintenance. My wife’s engagement ring was stolen while maintenance came to fix a toilet; In the time we’ve been here we haven’t had functioning bathroom vents; And they went up on rent without making any improvements to their apartments or grounds. My 4 year old son and my wife were constantly getting sick which was out of the ordinary - my son had even taken a few trips in an ambulance to the Children’s Hospital. After doing some research my wife found that a lot of their symptoms were congruent with exposure to mold. My wife did a mold test in several areas of our apartment that came back positive. Unbeknownst to us, we were moved into an apartment that has had mold issues for a while, and I’m sure Thies & Talle knew about it. The bathrooms were mold infested, as was the master bedroom A/C unit that we used every night during the summer and fall. When management was told about the mold issue, they sent maintenance over with paint to cover where the mold had been growing in the ceiling of the master bathroom (the mold has since shown through their efforts to cover it up). We spoke with management about breaking our lease because of the mold issue, for which they insisted we pay. After some back and forth, they waived the fee, however, they gave us a month to vacate the apartment so they could “get it ready” for the next tenant. All in all, our experience has not been good and we can’t wait to move at the end of this month. Edit: They fixed the vents in the bathrooms a week and a half before we moved out. I hope they know that won’t get rid of the mold."
"I absolutely love living here. I read through the lower reviews and don’t understand any of them. Rent is not high for what you get. The apartments are extremely well kept, renovated, has a balcony, and there is IN UNIT LAUNDRY! Literally nowhere else around here has full size washer/dryers for this price. The kitchen is huge. The bedroom is huge. Everything about it is so nice. It’s pretty much my dream apartment. I’ve toured probably every apartment complex in the West-Metro area and the quality at other places is either too nice and too pricy, or not nice enough for the price. I even toured a second round of places for a friend and she ended up living here too because nowhere could compete. It’s also very nice and quiet here. Mostly single people or couples from what I’ve noticed, but there are some families too. Everyone is very respectful and polite! Pool is a nice amenity but honestly we hardly use it. I personally care more about the quality of the units than amenities because that’s where you spend most of your time. Management is great too! Zero complaints about anything. I tell everyone I know to live here."
"I've been here for nearly 3 years now and this place has impressed me from day 1! The manager, Ardith, is so sweet and she's on a first-name basis with everyone! I can't tell you how impressed I was that she knew my name and remembered it right away. The maintenance staff here is amazing as well! Cory and Joel are the two maintenance workers and they are both so friendly and helpful! They respect your apartment and never leave it looking like a mess after they're done, and they are always on top of all the maintenance requests, and I've never had to wait more than a day for any kind of urgent scenario. After our first year here the washer was having issues, so they replaced it with another one they had on site. However, a year later, that one ended up having issues as well! But they took care of us and got us a brand new washer. I feel like I'm always taken care of here. It's in such a quiet and safe area, so I'm never worried about my car being parked outside. Other reviews are right - you only get one garage spot per apartment, so if you have a roommate, only one of you gets a spot. That's not ideal, but you do get to add yourself to a waitlist for an extra garage spot. I've been on the list since I moved in, but I'm only #2 on the list yet...but that just shows how long people stay here! Other reviews on here are angry about the lack of amenities (party room, fitness center, playground, etc.), but none of that is hidden from prospective residents. It's made very clear what they don't offer, so it's hard to get angry about what they lack AFTER signing the lease. And sure it's pricier, but you get a HUGE, beautiful updated kitchen with an exorbitant amount of cabinet and counter space, an amazing master closet, and an in-unit washer/dryer! I don't think people realize how terrible other places are - they can pay the same amount somewhere else and get a whole lot less. The last place I lived cost the same as I pay here, but I had to go down the hall and use the same laundry machines as all the other residents, most of which were broken anyway. I will never give up having in-unit machines again! All in all, I have NOTHING but good things to say about this place! I don't plan on leaving anytime soon. :)"
"My family and I moved from FL to MN about 7 months ago. We decided on Plymouth Ponds without ever seeing it in person. Our deciding factor was the office staff and how helpful they were when we inquired about leasing. The office staff continues to be amazing and helpful every time we need something. Rent is reasonable because heat, water, trash, and sewer are all included. Some amenities like gym and park are lacking, but overall it’s a nice place to live."
"The apartments are obviously really nice. The kitchens are huge, the master closet is amazing, there is quite a bit of cupboard space. Thats it though. Those are the only nice things I can say. When you come for your walk through you get distracted by those qualities so you don't realize that those extra cupboards are very shallow, the shelves inside cant be moved so they are to short for most of your stuff. There is no linen closet and not enough bathroom storage space. I dont know how some of these reviews say the place is quiet because I can hear the people above me all the time. They wake me up often. I know the people under us hear our movements to because they hit the cealling when they get mad. They have a dog park but no playground. There is a huge area where they could easily put one. There is no gym and no party room. All in all this place is entirely to expensive for the lack of amenities and short comings. The office staff and maintenance are nice though and the location itself is convenient but I can't wait to get out of here when my lease is up in 9 months."
