Tamarak Apartments 1850 East Hayden Lane, Tempe, AZ 85281

"Tamarak is one of the more affordable apartments in Tempe and very good for the price. I had maintenance issues almost every month but it was fixed promptly. I lived here for two years and it felt cozy, neighbors were nice, there was an orbit bus right outside to asu campus. The wifi was slow though after covid, so we had to get our own. David was always very kind and considerate, always accommodating to our issues. It wasn't gated, but I always felt safe."

"I lived at Tamarak for two years, & I had a mostly positive experience for the time period! All issues I had were fixed fairly fast, and staff was always quick to answer any questions or problems we had. David always lent a helping hand if we needed it, even personally checking in on my wifi access when I had an online meeting during COVID. We ended up purchasing our own wifi during COVID due to the rise in technology usage, but before that the Tamarak wifi worked amazing for us! The apartment was very cozy & we could fit all essentials in there, not to mention the in unit washer/dryer. We lived on the second floor, so I didn’t hear stomping, but sometimes you can hear noises from outside. Tamarak was affordable & pleasing for my overall experience."

"I loved my stay at Tamarak as well as the caring manner of the manager. From my experience, they would come and check right away if there is anything they can help with the maintenance of my apt. Though, there is no gate at this complex in case that is something you'd like to consider, which I hope they will have soon. Would recommend to anyone who wants a budget-friendly apt to stay."

"I have lived in a one bedroom with Tamarak for about 8 months now and am very satisfied with it. My boyfriend and I were a little hesitant about the complex, as there were pretty scarce detailed, recent reviews. We decided to take a leap of faith and couldn’t be happier about our decision! We did a lot of research regarding apartments in Tempe and Mesa and found this place to be one of the most affordable. Also, we’ve had a few minor fixes that needed to be done in our time here and management has handled them that day, often within hours. Location is also good, near one of the best breweries in Phoenix as well as downtown Tempe. The one downfall we’ve had at this place is our mail and packages. Although it hasn’t been terrible, there have been a couple of times where packages have been delivered to the office and the office has limited open hours. The property manager is easy to reach via email and set up a time to get the packages, but it is a tad inconvenient. Haven’t had to deal with this as of late though, most things have just been delivered to our door no problem. Overall, if you’re looking for a bang for your buck and a simple, basic, solid apartment, Tamarak is for you!"

"To be very clear, I have always felt safe in this complex. It is clean, affordable, and about a ten minute walk from the lightrail station. Any maintenance issues are dealt with ASAP. The master bedroom (in my unit at least) has a large walk in closet and private bathroom. It's very nice. This isn't my favorite apartment I've ever had, but for the price I don't think you can find a better apartment complex in Tempe or Mesa."
