"I am not a current tenant at Talavera, however I was interested in living at the community. I went in to talk to the management at Talavera about a bad situation with my current landlord at a different property, hoping to move to their property. I was nervous to share what was happening with my current landlord since I was still in a lease because I was afraid I would be perceived as a problematic tenant. The leasing agent at Talavera, Justice Johnson, did not make me feel like that at all. Contrarily, she actually was validating and offered some general advice on the situation and went above and beyond to help me with the process. I have encountered a few people in my housing search that are quite unknowledgeable when it comes to answering questions and she was able to answer them. I unfortunately was denied at Talavera because of my credit and criminal history, which was obviously disappointing for me because I know that I am a good tenant. I do wish they had a little less strict background policy because the quality tenant I am feels completely irrelevant. However, this review might help those that are super worried about what kind of people might be living in their community to know that it is likely safe based on their more strict tenant screening. Obviously, Justice, the agent, can't control that outcome. I just wanted to leave a completely honest review. Her customer service is 10/10."

"this place has potential but isn’t worth $2,285 a month for a 2 bedroom and 2 bath. My girlfriend paid almost $3,400 to move in and it came with a lot of issues. The window was broken, everything is old, no heater, and overall the place was disgusting. NOT A LUXURY APARTMENT AT ALL! They paint over everything that is broken or needs to be replaced. Paint stains everywhere! The shower is falling apart and everything underneath the paint is showing that absolutely nothing was done to properly clean and be ready for someone to move in. Take a chance at your own risk. Nice people in the front though."

"When we first moved in the cleaning staff were still in the process of cleaning our apartment. Not only that but late in the night they came to our unit and opened our door with out permission. I then needed to notify the leasing office. The cleaning staff entered the unit late at night without permission. The leasing office then scheduled an appointment to finish cleaning the unit. When the carpets were being cleaned the employee did it very fast with no effort. The cleaning staff also broke the bulb to the units ceiling fan. It took 4 months for the fan to be replaced. The only enjoyable part of this property was the maintenance employee Jerry. He was always quick, fast, innovative, and friendly to fix any issues with the unit. Since he left for different employment.the property has declined in friendliness, cleanliness, and family friendly. Now when I put a request in for air filters I am meet with dismissiveness. An inspection was to be done for our unit. The day of the inspection no one came to our unit. I had to reach out to the leasing office and spoke to Justice. She then came off regarding our concerns as skeptical and dismissive. We were told twice she would leave a message for Killie the property manager. Two days go by when we again reach out regarding our inspection as our air filters were to be changed during said inspection as well as we wanted to be dillgant so that we would not be wrongly billed for a violation of failure to allow entrance. During that conversation Justice was again blantely rude and falsely stated she had spoken to me personally and said they would inspect the unit today. Not only did I never have that conversation when we did speak about said issue I was told she would only leave a message with Killie. When I have sent emails regarding concerns or inquiries to community events I have received no response. I have noticed this behavior from Justice since I disclosed my disability. Before disclosing I was not met with this behavior. During my times speaking with Killie it was professional as I would expect of any property manager. She has been pleasant and efficient to work with when I am able to get in contact. When attempting to contact the leasing office I am meet with unfriendliness, passive aggressive from the leasing agent Justice. I have only spoken to her a a few off occasions strictly business however her dismissive and lack of interest in the issues brought to her attention are a concern. If I were to bring my concerns I am sure they will be unanswered or ignored. Also the units were built in the 80s and have a lot of issues that the maintenance are unable to fix. On several occasions I am told the unit was built in the 80s so there is nothing we can really do about fixing this. As well as each unit will be different and not at all like the one my husband was showed when he viewed the apartments. He was told the only difference would be a different color back splash but load and behold we have no backsplash and there are no handles on any of cabinets. The bathroom sink and tubs coating is pealing away."

"Friendly and knowledgeable leasing office. Property is maintained regularly and kept up to date. Great location near 101 loop and 60 makes commuting easier."
