"What a refreshing experience to meet Maria Helbig recently when visiting The Glen! I meet and visit with so many leasing teams, rarely do I find someone so invested in the property they work at. Super enthusiastic about the community and ready to show off the great options for new residents - can't say enough good things about my experience with Maria. If you are a dog lover - this is the place for you. 2 dog parks on the property and a great location near Old Town. Definitely worth considering if you are looking to move in the future. "DO NOT MOVE HERE. The Glen at Old Town is very shady. I moved to Arizona last year from across the country and was looking at these apartments. After talking to many leasing agents, they all told me they had many apartments opened and within the price range I was asking for. They told me to apply right away, so I did. I was on the phone with them after I applied and got approved. All of a sudden, the guy I was speaking to on the phone with said all those apartments got rented out within the few minutes it took me to apply and that they have different apartments open but wouldn't be ready for a few months. The price also changed drastically. Since I was moving from IL, I had a certain date I had to move in by, so I declined. They still sent me over a lease for one apartment but I refused to sign it after the leasing agent told me to "hurry up and sign it" because he wanted to go home. I decided not to move there. A month later, I get a call saying to come pick up my keys. I told them I never signed a lease and will not be moving there. They said they had made a mistake. Another month later, I get an email saying "Thank you for your move out" with an outstanding balance. I called and email the property manager saying once again, I have never lived here. She apologized and said it would not be on my credit because I was very worried it would be. A year later, they had sent that payment to collections. A payment that I SHOULD NOT have to pay. Unfortunately, this mark is still on my credit and has impacted my credit score to the point I can't move into a new place. Ive talked to the property manager at the glen at old town and she was very unhelpful. I have many people ask me where they should move when coming to Arizona and I always make sure to tell people to STAY AWAY from this place. I would give this place zero stars."
"Don't bother living here unless you're okay with stuff never getting fixed. I've only lived here for almost two months and my kitchen outlets have never worked. You'd think they would check these kind of things beforehand. They won't enter my apartment because of the dog which I understand but I work 44 hours a week and they refuse to schedule a time to work with me to get this resolved. When I do call and let them know that I'll be home all day they tell me they are too busy and can't guarantee somebody will be out. I moved here from 2000 miles away for work and have nobody to watch my dog during the day so it's frustrating that they won't work with me. To get my AC fixed I had to take my own personal time off for somebody to come fix it even though it was an emergency."
"From the very beginning I’ve had the worst experience specifically with the office/management. First off I never got to see the unit I was moving into. Whenever I asked what it looked like/what were the appliances like, the office told me they had no idea. There weren’t even pictures for me to see and it wasn’t possible for me to tour my unit, could only tour a renovated unit (which looked absolutely nothing like mine). When I came to pick up the keys to move in, no one knew who I was and had no idea that I was a resident coming to get keys to move in. They had me refill out previous paperwork and new paperwork for 4 hours that should’ve been handled in the 2 months prior to moving in after I signed the lease. They asked for a copy of renters insurance even though I had already sent it twice via email prior to move in. At move in I sent them proof again in front of them and watched them print out a copy and put it in my file. 2 weeks later I get threatening emails saying I don’t have proof of renters insurance on file, that I’m not in compliance with my lease and I will be fined. I tried calling the office several times over 1 week they either didn’t answer or hung up on me. I tried emailing them several times as well and no response. So I went into the office and was told that it was glitch and that everything is fine. A couple months later someone contacts my contacts list saying that I don’t have renters insurance on file and need to send proof. I emailed them with proof again for the 8th time since I signed the lease, informing them that they do have proof I’ve watched them receive and file it and that my insurance has not changed or expired. To this day the resident portal still says no renters insurance on file and I still get emails occasionally saying the same thing. I’m currently in the process of moving out (thank god) and I’m still dealing with communication issues on their end. I imagine the entire moving out process will be a headache due to past experience. I haven’t dealt with a competent person in that office since living here. I have dealt with rude, condescending, unhelpful, unprofessional, useless people in the office. (This is me being nice) Besides management, the laundry machines are always broken, there’s a machine that hasn’t been working for 6 months and no one has come to fix it despite several residents reporting it. I’ve had stuff stolen from my front door, packages opened and gone through. As a woman I’ve never felt safe living here. The pool is always closed due to “maintenance.” The water gets shut off often. Random people constantly park in reserved spots, with no consequences. Not to mention the cockroaches and mice running around. Of all the places I’ve lived this has easily been the worst. It’s not at all worth the rent price. I will say maintenance is good, if you file a service request it’s always fixed same week usually only 1 day or 2 after you submit the request. That’s about the only positive thing I have to say about living here. (Maintenance does like to talk down to you, like you’re stupid though) Can’t wait to get out of here."
"Moving experience was great! Upon entering the leasing office I was greeted with one of the workers awesome Australian Shepherds! (Great first impression since I love doggos.) I was treated with respect and smiles. Happy to call myself a resident!"
