Sonesta Suites Scottsdale Gainey Ranch

"I can't think of anything negative about this place. From the staff, to the courtyard, to the bar, to the rooms, to the location... It was very relaxing, the suite was cozy, clean, with comfortable furniture. The kitchen was spacious enough, with good appliances, which coupled with Sprouts being right next door, was perfect for meal preps and whatnot. Definitely returning."

"So overall i would say our family had a good experience here. (A few negatives at the end of review) The staff were super friendly overall and very nice to talk to. The pool is heated and the kids loved it and there were always towels when we went, even at 9pm. The room was clean when we got there (although there was clean dishes in dishwasher) The free heated breakfast was nice, esp cause i didn’t know it was included. Basic stuff like eggs, breads, fruits, meats and what not. Great location for going out to eat/shopping and for local hiking. Now for the few things i did not like. The shower drain was not draining leading to believe it was definitely clogged which was a little disgusting. They were supposed to do a deeper cleaning cause we stayed longer and that never happened so that was disappointing. They did bring towels and take out trash every other day. The bar closes at 7pm but there are places in walking distance you can go to. Also we ordered 2 drinks one double bourbon and a margarita and it was $50.00. Thought that was a little pricey for this bar. Again overall good stay with a few hiccups."

"SKIP IT. We stayed in a two bedroom suite here and it was DISGUSTING. There was a used washcloth on the shower rod, THICK dust on every corner, and garbage left under the couch and tv stand. We brought it up to the front desk guy who had the head of housecleaning come check it out. She came, saw the mess under the couch, and said “well is anyone sleeping on the pullout?” YES. My two little ones were that’s why we booked this room category. The couch was visibly stained with who knows what. She basically said two people were getting in trouble for the state of the room. However, nothing was done. We were told we were getting additional cleaning or possibly a room switch…neither of which occurred. During our stay here, we just tried to be out of the room as much as possible and only used it to sleep due to the condition. We will not EVER be returning."

"This was our second time to stay at Gainey Suites. We stayed 7 nights and once again enjoyed our stay. The pool and patio area are well suited for a relaxing day. The morning breakfast was good and the nightly happy hour (only used twice) was perfect after an afternoon of golf. Finally, the location is ideal. Numerous restaurants are within walking distance."

"Updated: after posting this review, management tracked down my scarf and mailed to me, albeit for the cost of $26 shipping. Grateful to have it back! Stayed here for the second time for two nights on a work trip. Room was filthy with visible dust and hair in the shower drain. Requested a refresh clean and talked directly to housekeeping but room was never cleaned. I sneezed all night and couldn't breathe due to dust. Fast forward to checkout day. I left an expensive cashmere wrap in the bed by accident; I had slept with it for extra warmth. Called that evening when I realized it was forgotten; was told I had to call the next morning. Called the next morning was told housekeeping didn't find it. Unfortunately I can only assume at this point that it was stolen. The hotel has not returned phone calls and has simply said they "aren't responsible." A dirty room was bad enough - add in stolen items and zero recourse and this hotel is absolutely not worth the prices they charge."
