"My lease is up on April 27th, I gave notice on February 24th and scheduled my move out inspection on April 19. Today they serve me notice they are coming in Monday to inspect and I have no choice. I work from home and there is no reason to come in a month earlier. This management team and office staff are the rudest people I have ever dealt with."
"I do not recommend Avilla. I would characterize Avilla Deer Valley as greedy, negligent. irresponsible, and impersonal. Multiple times during my residency they unfairly attempted to charge for things that my lease protected me from. Maintenance was a disaster. Upkeep was zero. There was a drug related shooting next to my building. I have a 15 year old who walked to school around the time it happened. They took my rent out of my account twice one month and over-drafted me and told me they could not refund it . They refunded me after my bank’s lawyer reminded them they had to. A maintenance person entered my house and was in my home with only my 15 year old there without our knowledge. The list of extra charges is a mile long every month. I had less square footage than I have now and was paying $1,000 more a month. It got more than one star because I loved the dog park and I got to have my dogs. Also there is no parking Updated: i lowered it another star- i moved out i. July and here I am in October receiving a threatening email that I owe almost $1,000 in damages after i had the place professionally cleaned. This place is outrageous on their greed."
"I am so shocked at the negative reviews I see. I had nothing but a pleasant experience at Avilla deer valley. My boyfriend has lived at the Deer Valley location for almost 2 years. After the first year I noticed a lot of changes, good changes. The property looked more cleaner, the pool was always clean and open & all the new flowers and plants (I work at a Nursery so I pay attention to flowers etc.) I thought maybe they were under new management but come to find out it was a new manager working in the office. I went into the office to see what availability they have for a 2 bedroom and immediately I was greeted by Danielle, she was so welcoming, she provided me with all the information I needed and she also referred me to the Avilla website where I could see all of the properties. We talked for about 15 minutes, I feel like I made a new friend lol. Definitely impressed with the customer service, can’t wait to call Avilla home."
"If you are using a section 8 my choice voucher DO NOT RENT HERE-This property breaks the law by taking your money, but doing everything in their power to deny section 8 voucher holders. Here in Phoenix, AZ-ALL properties were given notice that they had to accept the voucher program. The property management office is refusing to provide the needed documentation. If you feel people shouldn’t be discriminated against when it comes to fair and equal housing. This is probably not a property company that you want to go with."
"I'm an extremely dissatisfied resident to say the least. My husband, son, and I have lived here for almost 4 years now and each year we seem to have more and more poor experiences. Our rent was increased by A THOUSAND DOLLARS just this year, and yet they do nothing to increase the value for their residents. They charge for items that are typically covered by maintenance when renting ($18 if a window blind breaks, $30 to replace the water filter for your fridge, etc), they also installed "smart home" technology in all homes within the last year and forced an additional fee for that too. This is in addition to a forced fee for Ally Waste to take your trash out for you (mind you, their staff only seems to do so if and when they feel like it) and you're still required to pay an extra $25 a month for a service you don't even get on a consistent basis. The office staff has such a high turn over rate that I feel like I'm speaking to a brand new person everytime I contact them. And don't even get me started on the disrespectful nasty attitudes that I get from 99.9% of them. The most recent disappointment occurred today- we scheduled maintenance to come and complete some repairs in our home at 2:30 this afternoon. 3 pm rolls around and NO ONE has shown up, called, emailed, etc. Long story short, we get told (hours later) that there was an emergency that required the help of all maintenance staff and that is why no one came. I obviously understand that emergencies happen and take priority but it's the lack of communication that I find extremely inexcusable and unprofessional. To say I'm disappointed and fed up with the way things have changed here over the years is an understatement. My one star goes to the managers Danielle and Larissa who have always been kind and curteous to me during our time here."
