Sunland Motel Mesa

"I was excited to be able to stay a 1 week here at The Sunland Motel and to be able to get to be off the streets for a week. However on the first day of my stay there were complaints to the front office about me making too much noise and the police were called since the church already prepaid a week the policemen were able to talk down the manager to give me a warning and let me stay however if I was going to continue to disturb the peace then I’d be arrested. The night from then on was peaceful and quiet no issues. The following day the manager changed my room to a smaller corner room down stairs where I had less neighbors. I was fine with it. Then I was told by the manager I wasn’t allowed to have visitors past 7pm after I had a friend spend the night with me the night before without any issues and they even left super early in the morning for work. Then today which is 6th day of my stay the owner, manager, and house keeper came knocking on my door because they assumed I had more than 10 people in my room which I had only 1 other person and they said I had visitors for more than 4 hours so I guess this is not allowed too. They said even though the room was paid until Saturday I was being forced to leave Thursday morning instead and the money for the other 2 days would be refunded not to me but to the church which is fine. I’m upset because I am homeless and I was excited to get off the streets for a few days but the hotel had treated me horrible as a guest and my visitor horrible too! I’m embarrassed because of this hotel and they way over price things. On one of the nights I spilt milk in my bed sheet and couldn’t get a new sheet until the next morning. Also they didn’t give me extra pillows until two days after I asked for them and they rolled their eyes when I asked for more towels. Guests also had to pay per day for Wi-Fi access so it’s not free. Honestly I will never come back here and neither will my friends or family. This hotel should be closed down and there might be something illegal going on in here. Who knows I just know that when 3 older hispanic men gang up in a young female American adult it does not look good! Do not rent a room at this hotel horrible absolutely horrible!!!!!"

"The unit was clean and I was there for about 6 weeks and I was treated with much respect and if I need to stay in a motel room, I will go back to this good motel."

"Room I was in was not as clean as I'm used to. Service seems only to be a walk to the front. Even if you call , you're still walking to front. Location is good. Stores all around. K F chicken a few blocks away. Ross Store across from KFC. Jack in the Box is there. I feel like this is not for a family vacation stay. Maybe more towards the Truck driver life style."

"My dear friend was a long term tenant at Sunland Motel. Unfortunately, during his stay he passed away. (He was older in age, passed away off site).I will forever be grateful to Mr. Patel Pinal and the rest of the staff. Living in California, it wasn’t easy for me to drop everything and go to AZ to collect my friends belongings. Mr. Patel was kind and respectful enough to not tow my friends vehicle despite his stay being up and his car remaining in the lot and was also kind enough to preserve all of his personal belongings as well that were left behind in the room until I went to go collect them. He went above and beyond to give my dear friend dignity and didn’t wait for the first opportunity to throw away his belongings and tow the car. Mr. Patel and his staff are class acts; the world needs more people like this."

"Vacation Mary is really nice, so is her husband. The place is clean and freshly remodeled. Easy access to the outside. Very clean laundry facilities. I had a good stay. One downside is that they will be on you about the rent at checkout time. Lol other than that it was great. I'm checking out today. Thanks."
