"The Woman that helped me was nice . Check-in was smooth , she was very helpful when I was having a confused moment because I was so hot & irritated from my flight . She said if I needed anything feel free to call or stop by front desk . I did get lost going to my room because I didn’t listen well to where she explained to me where my room was . One of the house cleaning ladies seen that I was lost & trying to find my way around . She was very kind , & told me I was on the other side of the building . And then we laughed it off . The room was fine , clean . I personally thought it was bigger than what it actually was ( my fault ) . Some of the channel froze on the TV . But other than that . It was fine . Would I stay here again ? Probably not , because there was some creepy guys there & being a woman alone , that’s kinda of scary. But all in all I would give my stay 5 Stars . I had no issues at all !"
"A majority of the front desk staff was rude first off. The AGM wrongly assumed my debit card from Ally bank was a prepaid card after I hit the wrong button while paying one week which caused my card to decline, so she had the front desk staff continue to harass me every week I paid. Ally doesn't offer prepaid cards, unlike more well known banks like Wells Fargo and Bank of America. The room didn't have a microwave when I checked in and I had to go down to the front desk 3 times over 2 days to get it replaced. Because the front desk person didn't put in a work order, which I assume she thought wouldn't know since the maintenance person and her were speaking in Spanish. The couch in the room wasn't the couch that was supposed to be there. It was a blue cloth one, not the brown fake leather ones in the other rooms. So much for that 10-point cleaning plan touted on their stickers, website, and everything else. Makes me wonder what else wasn't cleaned properly if they didn't notice the microwave was missing and the couch was swapped. Not surprising when some days they only had one housekeeper trying to clean every room that was scheduled. The floor was stained and disgusting. The night latch on the door was barely held on. The shower head wasn't mounted properly and the bathroom door wouldn't close fully. I asked to speak to the GM, but she never called me. They don't care cause according to them a bulk of their clients are ghetto and they need to be more forceful when dealing with them. Yes, a staff member said that to me, when I complained about the front desk staff's attitudes. I take that to mean their usual clients are poor so they deserve to be treated like dirt and there's nobody saying otherwise so why treat anyone with respect, because if you're staying at this location you must be too poor to be treated like a person. I've stayed at other locations within this brand and NEVER had a bad experience before usually, the staff gets a glowing review from me. This one is HORRIBLE and so are the staff at the front desk (for the most part). The housekeepers and maintenance were nice and professional. I honestly doubt I will ever stay at another one of these properties again."
"I've traveled over 25 states and always use Extended Stay America as my home away from home until I came to ESA Oak St location. First of all. The front desk personnel are so nasty behaving that it still puzzles me that they still have a job. I was kicked out of this nasty motel because I was asked to stay outside while they searched my things and I questioned them about why they need to have the door closed for that. I was told to leave the property before check out the next day. The managers to the housekeepers are all the same. A bunch of thieves, going through people's stuff in the rooms. They find the slightest things to kick you out and keep your money. Even when you are not a smoker, they said you smoke in the room and charge you. Then there is cooperate who doesn't give a rat's behind about these people ruining their brand because they never get any issues resolved. They don't reply about complaints and just allow these people to continue like it's a normal day. I WILL NEVER STAY AT AN EXTENDED STAY AMERICA PROPERTY AGAIN AND I WOULD ADVISE PEOPLE TO STAY AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE FROM THIS SPECIFIC LOCATION."
"The girl who was at the customer service desk acted like she hated her life work here. Their breakfast sucks. It’s just grab and go. I was expecting breakfast here as they say they offer it. The pullout couch had no sheets and when I ask for pillows, I was told they were all dirty and they didn’t have any extra clean ones. There are no ice machines. The customer service was bad! I won’t stay here again. Also it’s in a ruff part of town."
"This hotel is garbage. Stains all over the place. Bathroom door had fracture like someone kicked it open. Couch looks and feels like it's been there for 30 years. On My last night there a strange intoxicated man came to hotel at 5 am banging on random doors looking for his "baby mama". I watched him go door to door knocking and screaming. I called the front desk and told them and they did nothing about it. He came back to my door knocking and talking loud. I yelled through the door that whoever he is looking for is not in my room and that I called security and he should leave. He did not leave. He continued to demand to see his girlfriend and that he spoke with front desk so they were aware of his presence. But they did nothing to stop him so they condone it. He was clearly intoxicated and belligerent. I went back and forth with him for almost an hour til he eventually calmed down and I actually came out of the room and showed him his girlfriend was not there. He could have been armed and killed me. I in fact was armed and could have just shot him. If not for my military training to deescalate the situation someone could have been hurt or killed. I'm sure the office clerk watched the whole thing on camera and condone it all. I will never stay in or recommended your hotel ever again. I actually want a refund but I'm just glad to have made it out of there alive."
