"Room was dirty with hair on the shower walls and I saw 2 roaches in my room. Staff was friendly, although they seemed like they did not want to be there. Outside there is trash everywhere. Pool was closed. It was also very dirty. Only plus side is that I was 10 mins from Suns game and 30 mins to Goodyear. I almost forgot the best part, the whole place smells like pot. "Breakfast" is muffins, oatmeal and coffee. If you are traveling with kids, please find another place to stay."
"Update: Gina was wonderful checking me in and Will was awesome helping me with my concerns. The first night nothing happened but the second night is when I couldn’t believe how many cockroaches were coming out..I was disgusted. I asked for a different room and we had to go through three additional rooms to find a decent cleaned room….the hotel needs major repairs, updates, an exterminator and pay raises for their employees. They will not take care of a place if they are not taken care of. I will be asking for a partial refund. I am sure there are multiple code violations currently with this hotel."
"I’ve been at pet stores that smelled nicer than this hotel. Floors in our room were sticky and almost all the furniture was damaged. There were massive stains throughout the rugs in the hallways and we saw cockroaches on the walls. There were always homeless people hanging around the entrance to the hotel. Our sink was almost completely clogged, so the water shot out of the spout like a pressure washer. Don't stay here! The cleanliness you would get at a nicer, more expensive hotel is worth it."
"Only for the brave…or desperate. Pros: location, it’s right in midtown Phoenix and close to grocery stores and such. The staff was friendly when they were around. Other guests were helpful, especially with the broken door situation. The floor in my room was a nice wood look ceramic tile and seemed very clean. Full kitchen with burners, big fridge, and dishwasher. Plenty of storage for clothes. Bed was comfortable and seemed clean. More affordable. A deep tub. Very nice landscaping. Plenty of free parking. Cons: The first floor hallway REEKED. Like a combination of oxidized pet urine and skunk spray. I had to wear a mask just to walk through. Understaffed. They need to hire more people. The side entry door handle was broken off and I had to master a special trick to open the dang thing. Thankfully other guests helped. Roaches. I found a dead one and a live one. I was told they have an exterminator come biweekly but they’re still around. The furniture layout was really awkward and cramped. There was only a foot of space between the bed and the HUGE dresser the tv was on, so a tight squeeze to get to the bathroom. I think it would work better to lose the tall shelf between the bed and couch, mount the tv from the ceiling or on the little wall, then move the gargantuan dresser between the bed and couch. I measured and it would fit. That would free up more space and still have storage. The blankets were really thin. I wish I’d of brought a sleeping bag. I never got the dishes I requested so I had to eat from reused takeout containers. Everything was kind of battered. Minor issue but obvious. Not enough access to the parking lot via side doors. Dog “presents” in the gravel. That’s on the guests but giving a heads up. Fridge was loud. Bring earplugs! Tub didn’t have a sloped back so it was impossible to recline, and it drained very slowly. Not the worst place in Phoenix but I hope to the high heavens I’m in the Hilton next time."
"From the start there was a pungent smell in the lobby and all of the hallways. Check in went fine, you can tell the staff don't enjoy working there. On arrival to our room we opened the door and it sprung open. We walked in and I started looking at the room. I found 3/4 of a beer in the fridge, old food in the freezer and the top of the fridge had not been wiped down in probably years. The bathroom light almost worked and there was a used bar of soap with hair on it in the shower. My wife and i did everything we could to keep our items off the floor. I sat down for a few while we settled in and turned on what they call a TV. the TV was dying quickly and you could kinda see what was on, but it was very blue and we had to have all of the lights off and window shades closed to actually see it. We left for a while and had to slam the door to get it to close. I took our recently removed trash to the front desk, they looked at me like yea what do you want its trash it was in your room. I also asked that they send someone to look at the light, TV and door. When we got back, no one had looked at anything i reported. at that point i gave up and we decided to watch something on my IPAD. That when the party in the next room started. There must have been 20-30 people in that room. Loud and yelling until about 1130, not to mention there dog barked all night long. While we were laying there we got to meet the bugs that lived in the hotel. i must have killed 20-30 a night. needless to say the stay did not approve. the rest of our stay was more of the same, and the only reason i did not leave is that my wife was in the hospital literally 2 minutes away. When we got home i threw away my clothing that i wore while i stayed there. Do your self a favor and don't stay in this hotel. It should be torn down and was not worth the price even if it was not doubled for spring training."
