Hillsborough Apartments

"So, I just moved out of town and this apartment complex, after extending for about a year. I was a four-year resident. It was a great experience with great staff and maintenance. I liked the ample storage; carports for a very small up-charge, if available to you. I was quite lucky to get an apartment near the dumpster so I had easy access to recycling. If you like walking hills for exercise, there's ample opportunity to do that. Here's another thing I observed. If you get an apartment that's down below, your utility bills in the summertime will be very low. And they are still not bad in winter. One reviewer mentioned draftiness and poor insulation. I did notice an outside wall could get pretty cool, but there were no drafts. The bottom line was that my bills were low. Strong gas heat. The apartments are wired for Google Fiber. At least mine was. That was a huge Plus, and it's the best deal for internet for the speed you get. And another thing. You are in great proximity to restaurants, and you can walk to them. Nice park nearby. Even a small baseball field there. Check out this place!"

"Loved, loved, loved living here. The apartment was spacious with tons of storage. If there were ever any issues, maintenance was right on it. The staff were always helpful and friendly. Could not recommend this place enough."

"The community overall is nice. However the apartments are just okay and are veering on the side where updates and maintenance is needed quite often. Apartments are spacious and closet size is great but the noise level between apartments is pretty bad. We‘ve had two upstairs neighbors since we’ve lived here and we can clearly hear whenever they’re watching television and walking around. When someone walks around upstairs it sounds like cattle are being herded (this is in no offense to the neighbors themselves but to the construction of the building. It’s either old or poorly built) —beware if you live on the 1st or 2nd floor. The water smells really bad here just a heads up. There is a constant odor coming from drains. This has been brought to maintenance’s attention. The insulation in the apartment is also pretty bad and there is a drafts coming from the windows (this could be just our building I’m not sure). Again community is nice and pretty during the spring and summer time. If you place a maintenance issue they are pretty quick which is appreciated. A recommendation for the community and staff is to add speed bumps as there are individuals who speed in this residential area. At night it’s a bit dangerous if you are walking a pet. Personally I’m ready I find another place to live. Pros- affordable, pool, neighborhood is nicely maintained Cons— building and apartments are getting old and updates are needed, noise level."

"My husband and I lived here for 3 years when we were relocated for work. We enjoyed the pool in the summer, it's where we met most of our neighbors. Also enjoyed the easy access to the neighborhood and new sidewalks installed by the city! It gave us a lot of options to walk our dogs. The apartment was very quiet (top floor 2 bedroom 2 bath) and we could only hear people if they were talking in the parking lot or breezeway. Maintenance responds very quickly! Seriously the guys are the best and very friendly. We have lived in a lot of apartments and the reason we stayed at Hillsborough was because of price, maintenance and access to stores and highways. Edit to add - We never had an issue with the office staff. They were all very friendly and even gave my dogs treats when we stopped by."

"Family has lived here for two years and absolutely love it! Maintenance is incredibly responsive and prompt. Management cares about tenants and communicates well and often. Apartments are very well kept and very clean, although some apartments may have an older style with older appliances. Hillsborough is in a beautiful wooded area that feels very private. Husband and I are planning to move here in six months, and we are looking forward to it. You won't get a better price for square footage and the amenities anywhere in Johnson County!"
