"I've lived at an At Home Apts property for several months now and it has been an excellent experience from the beginning! I'm so lucky that I found this place after months of hunting. For all the perks, the rent is a deal (perhaps one of the few remaining in the kc metro area) - generous square footage, dishwasher, plenty of natural light, free laundry, free wifi, quiet and friendly neighbors, super responsive maintenance team. These apartments were built back when things were made to last, and so well-insulated that my heat hardly ever has to run and my electric bill is always under $30. I'm less than 15 minutes from downtown and I can walk to grocery stores, bars, a coffee shop, etc. Would recommend to anyone!!"

"I have nothing but great things to say about Nieman Square. I only stayed a year for educational reasons but I wish I could have stayed with this complex. First and foremost, the staff are amazing. The ladies in the office are so kind and patient and never once spoke to me in a negative or rude manor. I always felt like my concerns were validated. Even when a 3rd party vendor had caused some accidental damage to my balcony furniture, they offered to reimburse for the damage. Although it was not needed, it meant a lot and speaks to the integrity of the staff that they cared enough to offer that. The maintenance team is also superb. I’ve never waited more then 2 days for a repair. They were also very kind and clearly cared about doing a job well done. Overall, as the first apartment I lived in in a brand new state, I can say that worrying about my apartment was never on the list of stressors that often come with such a big move. Great place to live, incredible staff and friendly neighbors. Thanks!"

"I honestly cannot recommend At Home Apartments enough. Easily the best property management company I've worked with, and at this point I've rented from 7 or 8 different companies over the last 12-13 years. The good: Number of properties - this is not a large, national/multi-national property management company. They own roughly a dozen properties around the Shawnee/Mission/North OP area, so they have the time and resources to improve and maintain their properties, and it shows. Cost - while it might be a bit higher than some other properties around this area, you truly get what you pay for here. I felt safe, I had amenities nearby, laundry was free, there was space for storage in the utility room, and at my property there was a massive park right across the street to spend time in/walk my dog in. Deposit - I had to pay a full month's rent due to a lapse in my rental history, which is not the norm. I also had to pay deposits for both my cat and dog. However, the pet deposits are ACTUALLY deposits, not "non-refundable deposits" AKA fees that a lot of properties around here disguise them as. I just received my deposit back, and I was not nickel and dimed out of as much as they could take. They sent me an itemized list, and the amount that they did take was a legitimate expense due to damage I did to the property. The amount they took was fair, and fit within the range I had in mind when I got estimates. I did put in my fair share of cleaning, as was expected, so return the property in the way you received it (minus normal wear and tear, obviously) and you'll get your money back. People - the people are friendly and professional, from the leasing office staff to the maintenance staff. They always say hi and do their jobs efficiently and effectively. I never had to wait longer than 24 hours for maintenance, and only had to wait a few hours the one time I had to submit an emergency maintenance request. The bad: Honestly, I can't really think of much to add here. My only issues were with other residents who were not responsible pet owners in different ways. Not much the property can do about individuals not fulfilling their responsibilities without proof. The only reason I left the property was because I was fortunate enough to be able to buy a house. If I were still in a place in my life that renting was my best option, I would absolutely have stayed with At Home Apartments for the foreseeable future."
