"My time at Canyon Creek Apartments was a descent into chaos and disappointment. What initially seemed like a promising living situation quickly turned into a nightmare, thanks to the sheer incompetence of Greystar's management and their neglect of basic tenant needs. First and foremost, the presence of black mold was a pervasive and hazardous issue. Despite numerous complaints, management turned a blind eye, leaving residents to contend with the health risks associated with mold exposure. It was clear that profit took precedence over tenant well-being. Parking was a perpetual nightmare, with assigned spots routinely occupied by unauthorized vehicles. Sidewalks and fire lanes became makeshift parking spots, further exacerbating safety concerns. The management's lack of enforcement only fueled the chaos, leading to frustration and resentment among residents. Dog owners were equally negligent, allowing their pets to defecate freely without repercussions. The stench of unattended waste permeated the grounds, creating an unsanitary environment for everyone. Vandalism from neighborhood kids was another constant threat, with vehicles bearing the brunt of their destructive tendencies. Despite repeated incidents, management failed to implement effective security measures, leaving residents feeling vulnerable and unprotected. While the leasing agents presented a facade of professionalism, the reality was far from satisfactory. Greystar's management proved to be both cheap and incompetent, with maintenance staff who were ill-equipped to handle even the most basic repairs. The result? A botched bathtub resealing job that left overspray throughout the apartment, a testament to their lack of attention to detail. Third-party contractors, many of whom couldn't even communicate in English, were brought in haphazardly to perform subpar repair work, further compounding the maintenance woes. The presence of law enforcement responding to attempted break-ins was a chilling reminder of the unsafe environment fostered by management's negligence. Methamphetamine users lurking in the garages only added to the sense of unease and insecurity. The state of the amenities was equally dismal, with the pool and hot tub in a perpetual state of disrepair. The once inviting spaces became off-limits due to ongoing maintenance issues, robbing residents of much-needed relaxation opportunities. Reckless driving by both apartment staff and residents posed yet another hazard, with the roundabout serving as a battleground for those unwilling to adhere to traffic rules. Even the simplest tasks, like maintaining cleanliness, seemed beyond the capabilities of the landscaping company, whose early morning debris-blowing routine left residents' patios littered with refuse. To top it all off, the presence of ants pouring out of electrical sockets served as a fitting metaphor for the crumbling infrastructure and neglect that defined life at Canyon Creek Apartments. In summary, steer clear of this cesspool of mismanagement and neglect. Your health, safety, and sanity are worth far more than the paltry rent savings offered by Greystar. P.S. They will also rip you off when you move out!"
"Horrible move in experience. Apartment was not cleaned. Had to postpone move in date because of this. After a giving them an extra day after initial move in date it was still not cleaned when I had been told cleaners would be there at 7am. I showed up at 10am giving them extra time, right as I was leaving they showed up. I had to do a deep cleaning myself because they did a horrible job. Broken toilet seat, maggots in the fridge and garbage disposal not working. This was just overall the worst move in to an apartment I’ve ever experienced. I expected way better and am super disappointed. I’m not sure if it was due to lack of communication from the leasing team or what it was but they knew I was moving in a month in advance. Do better please for future tenants!!"
"One word— MOLD! Mold is dangerous to humans- especially children. This is a poorly constructed property built directly touching the ground in a swamp. As a result the humidity is so high that mold has grown in the walls of the ground floor apartments. Repeated attempts at resolution with management goes nowhere. The staff just sit and stare at you being super vigilant to not acknowledge your concerns in any kind of a liability manner. It’s too bad they put lipstick on a pig instead of fixing the problem. Of course that means new foundation so- not likely that will happen. They will keep tricking people into renting there. Don’t fall for it. Find somewhere else to rent."
"I don't want to get into the absolute horrid experience I had living here, I want to talk about how they sent me to collections 10 months after I left. When the last communication I had from them was getting my security deposit back. Avoid this place at all costs. Addition: I reached out to Canyon Creek before I left my review. They couldn't provide any information as to why I was being sent to collections. I then followed up with multiple attempts to contact Greystar itself, left several messages and have yet to get a response. Addition Part 2: Called Canyon Creek again and was told they could not provide any information to me."
"Community manager does not hide that she is tired or upset. Parking provided on ramps where previously dumpsters had been is narrow. And if you park there, your tires will fit perfectly in the space but also unavoidably be outside the fire lane labeled on the curb which leads to unjustified towing which will not be compensated, while others park the same and are left alone for weeks. Maintenance will assess one issue but not the full problem. After the washing machine sensor went out and my kitchen flooded they only checked on the washing machine and offered me rags for the kitchen, now the kitchen cabinets have moisture in them and may contain mildew."
