Forest Isle Apartments 5000 Woodland Drive, New Orleans, LA 70131

"I have been a resident at Forest Isle for 2 years and I am happy to be leaving end of this month. It is going downhill. The guards let anyone on the property and the staff at one point were pleasant but the new staff hired to do the ID process was the most rude and impatient person I have ever dealt with. The older lady that use to make the cards so pleasant and always smiling the new person rude and was on a personal call the entire time. I had to ask if she was talking to me or the person on the phone. When I asked a question she replied with an attitude and just overall tone and everything not a nice person and could use customer service training. I’ve seen the same employee on property and started to give her a piece of my mind but decided not to. I do think the new card is easier to gain access and I like that vehicle insurance is required."

"I finished my lease with Forest Isle and wanted to move into a bigger apartment. I was told that I wouldn't be able to break my contract to move into a bigger apartment but would have to wait until my current lease was over. So I waited. Once my lease was up, they did not have a bigger apartment available. I was told to go month to month (which is $100 more every month) until there was an opening. I did that but they used it against me when trying to get a bigger apartment once it was available. Now for several months after moving out I've been calling and trying to get a receipt of some sort from them, showing the breakdown of everything I have paid. I just want it for my own records but no one will call me back and apparently anyone I need to talk to is "not in the office at the moment". It is a renter's right to obtain a copy of their lease and a receipt for every transaction. They continue to pass the buck on who can print this out for me and the magical person who can is unwilling to answer the phone or emails. I have experienced several of the things other people in the reviews have complained about, including entering apartments for no reason, entering while people are in the shower, and not notifying before that they will be coming in. They only care about keeping the office and the front of the complex pretty."

"Great community but bad staff except for the security guards who are very nice. The leasing office is nice when you first meet them but very rude when you have your complaints. Or simply just need help. The maintenance department WILL come in your apartment for no apparent reason and if there is a reason, they won’t notify before or after. They came in my apartment while my girl was in the shower and i was At work. This happened multiple times, the department did not properly investigate nor did the leasing office even after I showed evidence of someone entiring my apartment and leaving objects. When brought to their attention instead they made me seem like the problem. They didn’t want to renew my lease and kicked me out. Property manager wasn’t very helpful or even available during this time of matter as well as the owners. They don’t truly care for the community as long as the lang scape is up to part and bills are paid…never received the request for a pressure wash on my windows. The sealing of the apartments are bad so you’ll get a lot of rodents if you don’t take care of that… buildings are leaning ready to collapse. Near by shootings always happen in the middle of night. And if you don’t like old school music on Sundays don’t stay in the back of the right turn of the community. They only cater mostly to military groups and police officers.. Laundry is fine, neighbors are cool. Amenities are awesome, but the leasing office and maintenance crew managers.don’t care for the community. Need to get rid of the pervs in the maintenance crew. Overall nice place to live idk for how long because those building are leaning but keep a camera because maintenance will enter your apartment and won’t notify before or after… these are the items the property manager asked for me to turn in but never investigated"

"First of all I would like to say forest isle deserves its name this place is literally a forest you will see every creature you can think of while staying here, from Raccoon's possums stray cats and unleashed dogs and to top it off the  idiotic tenants feed these animals like it's insane, inconsiderate dangerous and nasty. I can go on about the horrible streets to get in and out, the flooding, the shootings on tullis and the levee and so much more but I don't have enough time."

"Do yourself a favor and don't live here. Cars and apartments broken into weekly. The gate at the front is just for show, cars follow you in if you swipe your card and are never stopped. They increased price on washing and drying your clothes (if you are lucky enough to find an open dryer). The road leading into the apartments is very damaged and floods. If you value your car or personal safety look elsewhere. There is no security patrolling the levee at night and that's where all the 'crime' is coming from. Gunshots heard daily. It's absolutely beautiful and well maintained but a pretty outside can't hide the ugly that is happening in Forest Isle."
