Brent House Hotel 1512 Jefferson Highway, New Orleans, LA 70121

"Worst customer service EVER! My husband had a heart attack and I needed a room. My credit card was stolen as well as my husband's IPhone our 1st night in NOLA. The hotel wouldn't let me pay with his card. I'm from Oregon. This has been horrible and the Brent House finished breaking my spirit. I can't wait to go home."

"We recently stayed and did not have a good experience. We first checked into a room that was really spacious and looked pretty nice until we saw the mattress on one of the beds. It was totally collapsed on one side to the point if you sat on it then you’d hit the bed frame. We asked for a room change. The second room was okay until someone went to use the bathroom and noticed the toilet paper on the holder was soaking wet. It looked like someone dropped it in the toilet and put it back up. We asked housekeeping for some more paper and if they could remove the wet paper since they had gloves. Housekeeping told us they had no clue why we were given this room as it wasn’t cleaned yet and that we needed to ask for a room change. Our next room was missing a TV remote. The bathroom was small and the bottom of the tub was peeling up. The shower head barely put out any water. Overall it was not a great experience."

"We quite enjoyed our stay over NYE. The hotel staff are nice folk. The hot tub broke on the first day. I told the front desk but it wasn’t fixed in the two following days. Which is sad because it was my favorite part of the hotel honestly. it’s also a real bummer that that the hot tub closes at 10 o’clock. There’s no smart TV, but it’s fun to watch broadcast television while on vacation. The king size bed was comfortable and firm, and the pillows were nice and big. The mattress sheet was too small so it couldn’t be tucked in. It gets tangled up too easily. Only a fleece blanket and a sheet on the bed. A comforter would’ve been much better. There’s no barrier in the shower, so water just goes everywhere. The shower head is at chest height. You have to bend in half to get your head wet. The shampoo smelled great. the maintenance crew starts working early in the morning. We had to listen to them hammering and drilling and moving their tools around the room above ours. I complained to the front desk, but they never stop hammering and drilling. Very frustrating. The commissary was reasonably priced, and the room coffee was fine."

"Tuesday (10/31) night everything was amazing. The young lady at the front desk was so sweet. Here’s why a 2 star review. We ended up having to stay Wednesday (11/1) as well in case of any complications with our son after his procedure. We ended up taking him to the ER at 9 pm. He was in the ER until 8 am. We got back to the room to try and get some more rest before our 3 1/2 hour drive home. We asked for a late check out which we were given but ended up not being able to use that because they had some construction going on on the 6th floor the we could hear in our room on the 3rd floor. If I hadn’t booked through a third party site I’d demand my money back because we weren’t in the room much. Some compassion would have been appreciated especially knowing we were in the ER all night. If we stay here again I’ll be calling ahead of time to make sure there’s no construction going on."
