"We moved out because of the serious health concerns with your building, Clayton and David, I just posted some photos of our unit 3 weeks after we moved out, they left the door wide open at 8pm (was visiting a friend that lived next door). We were told our wall didn’t have any moisture in it and never leaked or was leaking, funny the pics I just posted have all baseboards removed on the exact same wall, with a dehumidifier in the center of the unit. Seems we were lied to, well we were well aware of that. I HAVE ALL THE PROOF, I have photos of the scaffolding taking place, I GOT IT ALL. We lived through their warranty issues, didn't have a master shower for 3+ months, experienced mold, unsealed brick walls that contained Crystalline Silica that we in haled (I had the dust tested and it was positive). The management company, Upper Management Realty is completely useless as a manager, No idea how to properly manage a Multi-Family property, its funny to me that the Owner is oblivious to that or he just doesn't care about his tenants and just wants to stabilize the project and sell or just collect rent, both are bad practices. Keep in mind the only other review is from the owner himself, David Hecht. We scheduled a meeting with him and the management about our serious concerns and the Health Hazards in the building. After the meeting we were offered a $5 gift card to the French Truck Coffee shop downstairs that rents a retail spot from David Hecht. It was insulting to even offer that in the first place. Keep in mind, we paid $2,750.00 per month to live in a building that had no business having tenants move in, it was clearly still under construction. We have evidence of our experience including pages of emails, text messages and numerous photos. Do to upper management and May and Ellis owners not repairing items in our apart for 3+ months, we moved, this is Under Louisiana state law, Art. 2719. Dissolution for other causes: “When a party to the lease fails to perform his obligations under the lease or under this Title, the other party may obtain dissolution of the lease pursuant to the provisions of the Title of "Conventional Obligations or Contracts". Acts 2004, No. 821, §1, eff. Jan. 1, 2005.” Art. 2682. The lessor's principal obligations The lessor is bound: (1) To deliver the thing to the lessee; (2) To maintain the thing in a condition suitable for the purpose of which it was leased; and (3) To protect the lessee's peaceful possession for the duration of the lease. Numbers 1 and 2 were breached by UMR, we upheld our end of the agreement and payed rent, maintained the property by submitting service requests in a timely manner. UMR was in breach of the contract for not providing what was contractually agreed upon. We moved out of this place for our own health and safety, we went to court with Upper Managment and the Judge dismissed the notice to vacate. Also, the lease agreement failed to disclose Megan’s Law, Louisiana is a non-disclosure State, with one of the exceptions being, Megan’s Law."
