"Giving this 2 stars based on location alone . Have been going annually to N’Orleans for last 6yrs . Lobby had a stench of Cleaning products that was trying to cover up something else Elevaor had a smell all of its own. Thats not the biggest negative. The noise was unbearable at 3:00 am everyday. Windows had to be paper thin.. Apt itself was clean yet dated. Shower leaked and one bathroom toilet ran non stop Don’t be fooled by pictures of the 5 x 15 ft pool on the roof top ."
"For the haters out there, this place is right off Canal St and Bourbon so all the parades, wedding parties, etc come through at night. Especially on the weekends so have some common sense - large building acts as a sound wall - it is not quiet. There are plenty of B+Bs in the Garden District that are very quiet ( and nowhere near the French quarter). Yup there are Texans out front smoking up and a cool Barber who thinks he is Elvis next store. But Sondor does a good job of keeping things low key with a security guard out front and double security on access to room and building. Also the entire area is high end hotels so not that bad really. Access to trolley cars on Canal and St Charles was excellent as was access to groceries and all the sites. All in all well worth the price tag even with some quirks with the very large room and aged elevators. We really enjoyed our stay."
"The building is NOT luxury, its a step above a hostel. Building seems very sketchy and grimy. Street Noise from unit is absolutely ridiculous, nonstop and painfully loud until 3 2/3am. Location is great but it ends there. Our floor smelled awful the moment you step out the elevator. Thankfully our unit smelled great. Disclaimer on unit, it really depends on who you rent from. My unit was extremely Clean with ok decor, great working AC and smelled great/clean but it’s extremely dated. No full-body mirror even tho it was advertised in pictures. The shower curtains were cheap and old. 2nd bath had mildew on curtains. Shower heads were old and water blows everywhere including out shower so floor is wet no matter how you position curtain. Pillows were extremely cheap and hard, bed is ok, very firm with cheap sheets. Personally I will never stay here again, rent at your own risk."
"The location of this property while staying in New Orleans is excellent. You can take the bus from the airport and it will drop you off two blocks from the apartment. Walking distance to French Quarter and Warehouse District. One block to transit to catch street car which costs $1.25 for one ride or $3 for the day. Day tickets can be bough on street car. Apartment was well equipped for cooking with starter kits for laundry and dishes, salt, pepper, coffee and coffee filters. Starbucks coffee is served on rooftop patio in the morning or in office on main floor. Small pool on rooftop good for kids. The area is a bit noisy from traffic (not nearly as noisy as the french quarter). If you are a light sleeper bring earplugs. Decent selection on TV, ac runs cold and there was a powder room, main bathroom, walk in closet, broom and ironing board. I would recommend this place for family or small groups looking to be close to everything. Staff are helpful and office an assist with printing off tickets of hardcopies are needed"
"Me and my wife stayed for one week and we're both glad we chose the Sonder! For the price, the Sonder is the best choice in the city! Our room had 1 & a half bathrooms, washer and dryer, kitchen with a stainless steel stove, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher. The kitchen also included a toasted and coffee maker along with pots to cook with plus silverware. The couch in the living room was very comfortable and also let out into an extra bed if needed. There was plenty of storage space for clothes, shoes and suitcases. The bed was very comfortable, not too hard or too soft. The only con I had was that the shower in the master bathroom, had a shower head that limited the stream of water. The other con was that the t.v only had local channels and not cable t.v. If you stay, make sure you bring a Roku, fire stick or some other streaming device. The rooftop was definitely a plus especially with the swimming pool. Me and my wife sat up there every night enjoying the nice breeze and views."
