"Decent hotel for the price and the location. Just 5 minutes walk to the downtown. Parking at an additional price ($20/day). Breakfast included (even though it was not mentioned on their website) and it was very good. Friendly staff. Decent rooms. Be careful with the bathroom doors if you have children because the doors are so sliding and the children might get hurt their fingers. Also, there was a slight musky smell when we entered the room and the lights were flickering. Don’t miss their roof top, you can get a nice view."
"We stayed 7 nights and we had an amazing time. The rooms were clean and functional, but the star of this hotel is definitely the employees. We received amazing service and hospitality from every employee we encountered but specifically Latonya and Franny went above and beyond to make our stay over the top. Thank you for such a wonderful experience !"
"The staff are friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The breakfast has a wonderful variety. The room... ours has a broken hide a bed, the floor in the shower is very slippery, the TV is difficult to operate, and there is only sheer curtains, which the city lights are bright enough for a night light. You can easily hear people in the hallway as well as sirens l all night long. We were on the 4th floor, river side of the hotel. The other side is the freeway. Otherwise, it's a nice room. Big walk in shower, mini fridge, and is clean. It's a mile walk to the East end of canal street and North to the park. It's an easy walk, fairly level. Lots of shops, restaurants, and bars."
"I have high elite status with Marriott and only booked this location based on proximity. I would recommend staying clear of this one. They are over charging for parking. There is no food on site. They had no rooms available past 4pm local time. The bar does not open on level one and level 14 has a super cringe vibe but decent rood top view. I will not stay here again."
"The location is extremely skeptical and the outside of the hotel does not look welcoming. We got to hotel around 7pm and here was a homeless person sitting in front. The guy employee was on a call with another guest and we patiently waited. Then when he hung up, the phone rung again and he picked it up and began talking and I showed an "annoyed" face because we weren't even acknowledged at this point. It wasn't until then he put the customer on hold and told me I was more important, and he was very nice after that. Seamless check in process although we got no brochure, no informative paperwork, and he just loaded me up with mental details of the property and closing times, etc.... The rooms were very clean and nice. My children and I ate some delivered food and after this time, I was ready for bed. I went to take a shower, turned the water all the way to hot, got completely undressed to find out the water was still piping cold. I waited 5-10 minutes thinking that the pipes were still cold, but the water was still cold. So I called front desk and found out the hot water was actually malfunctioned as the front desk representative said their "engineer was fixing the hot water". He told me to wait 5 minutes and I did, still no hot water. Waited another 10 minutes, still no hot water. So reluctantly, I ended up taking a 10 minute cold shower because I was really ready for bed after a long travel day. It was NOT FUN. I got out to get dressed and left the water running on hot because my children still needed to shower and I was not putting them in cold water. After about 15 minutes of me continuously checking the temp, it became warm enough for them to shower. The next thing was the heater in the room. DID NOT WORK. It was freezing cold in New Orleans that night, especially in January. I put the heater on for 20 minutes and cold air still shot out. I waited just like I did the hot water, but unfortunately fell asleep because I was tired. I woke up through the night very cold and the "heat" that I turned on was still blowing cold air. By this time, I just said screw it because it was only one night we were there so we could board our cruise the next day. My babies were cold too, but were able to sleep through the night. My kiddos and I woke up around 8am to eat breakfast. We went downstairs to eat and the food layout was mediocre, but enough for you to put something in your belly. The lady workers restocking the food looked like they absolutely didn't want to be there. They don't smile, they don't greet, they don't say anything and it was awkward in a sense, so my kiddos and I ate and went back to the room. Check out time was at 12pm which their website and email confirmation they sent me says, and something that their workers should know. I put the "Do Not Disturb" sign on our door so my kids and I could enjoy the rest of our morning undisturbed as we got ready for check out. 11:30am (30 minutes before out checkout time), there was a man worker that knocked on the door completely disregarding our "Do Not Disturb" sign to ask me if we had a late checkout. I told him "No, our checkout time is 12pm just like any other guest" and he said "Okay". I thought that was completely rude because for one, you should know that guests have until 12pm to checkout, and he didn't even care about our Do Not Disturb sign. We checked out and the guy front desk worker from last night said he would send an email confirmation in which he did. The cruise port was 38 minutes walking distance from the hotel, so I figured my kids could walk and site see. We exited the hotel building to find a bunch of homeless people and their tents setup across the street. The homeless dilemma is really bad downtown, so I opted to call an Uber after we were able to see the condition of the area in broad daylight. Nonetheless, we got through the night, my kids were somewhat comfy besides the cold, but would I ever book here again? The answer is- it would not be a first choice. Also, you could see anyone shoeing in the bathroom sliding door. Not discrete at all."
