"Kelly Park is an industrial beach, which is a shoreline altered by human activities associated with industry. Instead of the typical natural and pristine landscape, an industrial beach often features structures, machinery, or facilities related to industrial processes. You might find docks, shipping containers, pipelines, and possibly factories along the coastline. The waters are influenced by industrial discharges, affecting the overall ecosystem. Despite the industrial presence, some Kelly Point Beach Park beaches serve as vital hubs for shipping, trade, and economic activities. The visual aesthetics of KPBP are a mix of natural elements and the functional aspects of human-made infrastructure with some dirty sand."
"It is a nice, small, and beautiful park. The parking is ample. I went on a cold day so I did not see many people there. I enjoyed the view here, and I saw a giant container boat nearby. Good to enjoy some fresh air while immersing myself with nature. I will be back for sure"
"Always well worth the drive, but on our previous visit, in early June, the mosquitos were horrible and the rivers were so high there weren't any beaches. But we did see several rabbits, and a skunk--first time for that! Will have to watch our dog a little more closely."
"What a perfect day it was to go exploring at Kelley Point Park! 73° degrees, clean air, plenty of doggos to interact with. I came through today with a couple friends and their pup. Quick drive over to the tippy top of Portland. There was lots of parking in the main lot and folks parking along the way. It is definitely a big park and we'll need to come back to see more of the treasures and sights here. We walked down to and along the beach. So peaceful looking out at the Columbia River, right where it meets the Willamette. We watched boats go by, kayakers, and dogs play in the water. Really a great park."
"Nice secluded park along the river. Lots of parking, 2 parking lots, plus people park alongside the road. Restrooms with actual toilets. There's a nice big open grass area with lots of sunshine. No swimming in the river - signs posted everywhere. Dog swimming, maybe ok."
