Tropical Butterfly House 200 2nd Avenue North, Seattle, WA 98109
About the Business
The Tropical Butterfly House, located at 200 2nd Avenue North in Seattle, Washington, is a mesmerizing tourist attraction where you can experience the beauty of hundreds of breathtaking butterflies in their tropical habitat. With our butterfly and plant identification guides, you can practice your powers of observation while exploring the vibrant colors, textures, and smells of the plants that feed and provide resting spots for these delicate creatures.
All of our butterflies come from sustainable farms around the world, where they are raised in their chrysalis stage before being sent to us. We are committed to working with farmers who focus on native butterfly conservation and sustainable farming practices, ensuring that the butterflies are never taken from the wild for our exhibit.
Generous support for the Tropical Butterfly House is provided by The Pendleton & Elisabeth Carey Miller Charitable Foundation, as well as by numerous individuals, companies, and foundations who donate to Pacific Science Center. We invite you to learn more about how you can support our mission of promoting inclusion, diversity, equity, and access in everything we do.
At Pacific Science Center, we acknowledge that we live, work, and play on the traditional territories of the Duwamish and Coast Salish Peoples, and we are committed to honoring the land we occupy. We stand with those who are fighting against hate, racism, and injustice, and we are actively working towards being anti-racist in all aspects of our organization. Reviews
"This was smaller than I anticipated but I still had a great time interacting with the butterflies and the kids that were there (not mine) seemed to have a great time. I wish they had admission for just the butterfly house and not make you pay for the rest of the science museum. I certainly took lots of pics."
"The Tropical Butterfly House is awesome. It promotes awareness of the conservation effort in El Salvador. Watching the butterflies flying inside the green house was very pleasant."
"Magical place! I wish I had more time to spend there. There are plenty of photo opportunities. I most enjoyed watching the butterflies coming out of thier cocoons."
