I've had a great experience living in an efficiency on Wilson St. They even let me put in some native plants around the parking lot. There's a table in our mailbox area where we neighbors leave messages and treats for each other. And great price for downtown! I will always be grateful to them."

"BEST LANDLORDS! I have lived at 102 W. Wilson and 111 W. Wilson. Both properties are impeccably maintained and the Carpenter brothers are always attentive and friendly. My lake view apt. has one of the best views in the city. Highly recommend the apts. and the landlords! As another person mentioned, they are retro-fabulous."

"It doesn't get better when your landlords and one of their sons come help push your car out of a snowstorm. The building itself is retro fabulous, quiet, and if you get an apartment with a lake view, it is guaranteed 100% the best view in town. I would highly recommend, and say that is a great apartment for professionals all around."

"I lived for a year with RH & EH Carpenter at their 111 W Wilson St location. I’ve lived in many apartment complexes - none have landlords as reasonable, kind, punctual, and determined to be great landlords as here. The Carpenters manage their properties as a family business, and their pride in excellent maintenance shows everywhere - public areas, hallways, and stairwells are regularly cleaned. I consistently saw the Carpenters and their staff out early, shoveling snow in the winter (and leaves in the fall). They expect tenants to be responsible with their units as well, but don’t jump down your throat with an aggressive lease or micromanaging - they’re just good landlords and expect the same. The single maintenance request I did have was fixed in a matter of hours. There’s no doubt I would be renewing if I still lived in Madison - If you can get a lease with the Carpenters don’t ever let it go!! literally haha"

"I stayed at their property on University Ave for two years and had a great experience. Any maintenance requests I made to the apartment manager were addressed promptly. Any questions I had for the landlords were addressed right away. About halfway through my stay, one of my neighbors got new speakers so I had some noise concerns that were addressed when I brought them to the attention of the apartment manager. The apartment has lots of storage!! The rent is a good deal for the amount of space and the location. The apartment I stayed at was right by a bus stop and not that far from the UW-Madison campus."
