Carlsbad Coast Apartments 357 Chestnut Avenue, Carlsbad, CA 92008

"The living experience at Carlsbad Coast was great. The location is fantastic and the maintenance tech Martin is probably the nicest person you will ever meet. Upon move out the way I was treated by the front office of Carlsbad Coast and Wonder Dog Management needs to be mentioned. Six days after my lease ended I received my move out charges from Daniel. Wonder Dog Management had charged me my entire deposit + an extra $1.35. The only “damages” to the property were 8 small holes from my surfboard rack and I even spackled / sanded over these spots yet was still charged for the entire apartment to be repainted. The old apartment windows leaked every time it rained and this caused for the paint under the windows to chip / crack. For 11 weeks all I was told by Daniel was that the move out dispute was “being reviewed”. So after 11 weeks of emails to Daniel, 3 in person visits and multiple phone calls to Wonder Dog I was given no answer. I then sent a formal letter to Wonder Dog saying that at the end of the 12th week if I was not provided with a yes or no response to my move out disputes I would bring them to small claims court. Coincidentally just three days after receiving my letter I was returned a portion of my deposit back. I believe I am owed more but the remaining amount is no longer worth it to go to court. The fact this company could not review a 3 paragraph dispute and make a decision in 12 weeks but had no issues scheduling the necessary people, preparing the unit for the next tenant and billing me for it all after 6 days my lease ended is very questionable. I am sure this has happened to many residents of their properties and people need to be warned about what you will be getting into upon move out. I attached a picture of the tub spout and handle which I apparently broke but as you can see it is old (rust is showing) and they most likely just re spackled as they did before I move in. Be very careful with this management company."

"I have lived here for two years now and would definitely recommend this apartment complex to others. It's beautiful inside and out, and is kept really clean. Daniel in the office is so nice to work with and responds to any issue quickly and thoroughly. He and Marti make it really a nice atmosphere around the entrance and do an excellent job managing. I really appreciate how they care because they are residents too. This place is a gem in Carlsbad and so close to the ocean but also tucked away from the main roads. It's awesome!"

"I just moved in to Carlsbad Coast Apartments this month and it has been nothing less than amazing. I was looking at other apartments in the area when I saw a unit here open up and I am so glad I didn't find anything else first. This place is such a gem. It is so beautiful and clean and the management and maintenance are just over the top. Like I really can't believe how kind, attentive, and organized they are. They really go out of their way to be of service to our community and they're so happy about it. Teresa and Martin do an amazing job at making this place feel like home. Martin is always keeping everything in top shape, and he is so kind and happy to help. Teresa is so welcoming and inviting you almost feel like she's family and she's always making sure that everyone is happy and comfortable. I've never lived somewhere where the management cared so much. Everyone loves it here, it really feels like a community. Everyone says hi, everyone is considerate and respectful of each other, and I think that has a lot to do with how Teresa treats us all and runs the place. I am so grateful I found Carlsbad Coast Apartments. I wouldn't have been this happy anywhere else."

"Teresa made our experience of moving into these apartments flawless. We are current residents, and we have loved our time here so far. We moved from Wisconsin, so it was great to work with someone as caring and kind as Teresa. I have never had a property manager as attentive and helpful as Teresa either. We have felt very welcomed from Teresa and the entire community. The location is unbeatable being a couple blocks from both the ocean and Carlsbad Village. The whole complex is very clean and well maintained. You cannot go wrong living at Carlsbad Coast Apartments!"

But, those of us who live in homes we do not own, can probably agree that responsiveness of the management and maintenance is at the top of our wants list. On-site management and maintenance team, Teresa and Gustavo, always extend a warm hello and know me by name. They quickly and adeptly address issues I may bring up. In a world where big business often squashes personal affection and connection, I am thankful for a touchpoint of kindness and humanity."
