Motel 6 Carlsbad, CA Beach

"The staff was very kind. The hotel did not have working AC. When I asked why, the hotel said this location did not have AC which is unheard of at any motel 6. It was very muggy in the room and I did not sleep well. I was unable to arrange for a different location because I had a busy travel agenda. There was a trash can / cigarette can that caught fire. There was also police on site several times during my stay and the even made an arrest while I was there. The location is perfect but my experience was less than sub par."

"The newest management is doing a horrible job. I've been coming here for years and it hasn't been this bad. The room I was in had roaches. Bed and pillows lumpy and uncomfortable. Towels were well stocked and clean. Kiki who works up front is the only positive ray of hope that this mess of a Bates Hotel has."

"We stayed here for 3 nights while visiting family. The room was fine, and the shower was hot. Most importantly, there weren't sketchy people roaming the property at all. And it was quiet through the night each night. This is a great location right by the beach too !"

"Stayed here for 8 days each SWon two separate occasions. Customer service at this establishment is completely lacking, the African American girl working the desk was super unhelpful,the Hispanic gentleman was helpful and assisted us. Employee working the front desk was somewhat rude and when I tried to extend my stay for another night was told I couldn't. I was asked to return after 6pm . This place is ridiculously loud and all you hear is doors slamming and dogs barking uncontrollably at all hours of the day and night. I was traveling with my young daughter and the noise was so loud she was woken up on several occasions, I couldn't sleep due to dogs barking constantly. The person a few doors down had four loud dogs and they were constantly howling and barking. The person in the room next door had two very loud and obnoxious Chihuahuas that were always barking. Housekeepers are amazing and would bring anything that was needed. Air conditioner doesn't work and hasn't worked both times we were here and hot water wouldn't work on various occasions so showering was out of the question. This place has the potential to be so much better if the issues were addressed properly. I don't think we'll be staying here again. Paying full price for a loud and stressful location is definitely not worth it for me."

"I rented two rooms/4 nights while out of town on a business trip and chose these accommodations since a better hotel meant over $1200.00 expense, and being the fact the space would barely be used to sleep a few hours and to get a shower. The room I was assigned had not been cleaned, large hairs on the sheets, spots on the blankets and the toilet was not even cleaned, much less sanitized and it's disgusting to even mention how I found it upon arrival. I brought it to the attention of the attendant in the reception, the man in turn called a woman said to be the head of the cleaners, who instead of taking responsibility tried to quiet me down. I asked which was the added cost for me to get a clean room and some other person directed the attendant to assign to me a different room. This last room was a bit cleaner, though I still found hairs on the vanity and bathroom. I had to live with it On subsequent days different attendants showed more professional behavior. I've been to other Motels 6 which were clean and new, almost spotless. This one is on its way out. The 7.2 quality displayed at the website brought me in, but was misleading. I'd have gotten a higher priced hotel had I known. Not coming back."
