"New location and name for Takumi. The food was delicious, as it's always been for us, with added items to the menu. We had the mango lover appetizer, lunch sushi (philadelphia roll and shrimp tempura), and a bento box. Everything was delicious! The only thing we didn't care for was that the music selection and volume of the music was a bit loud/overbearing for what we wanted for our lunch experience."

"We were wondering where Takumi was after driving over to the old location and seeing no lights on. After reading the owner note on Google Maps we drove to Niji. What a wonderful new location for the restaurant. It seems like they really are growing into it well. There are even additional menu options that were not on the old menu. "While some of the cozy feel of Takumi was lost in the move and rebranding to Niji, the new restaurant has a sophisticated and modern feel and expanded offerings that make the change well worth it. Not lost in the move: the fantastic staff and excellent food! The dining room is larger and more comfortable, the sushi bar is less cramped, and there’s a new bar! One of the downsides of the old Takumi was that you often left smelling like a deep fryer - not any more at Niji; there’s more separation from the kitchen the hoods are new and more powerful. Takumi was one of our favorite sushi restaurants in Madison. Niji looks to have taken all of the best parts of Takumi and reassembled them into an even better restaurant."

"NIJI MADISON REVIEW: We had a great din in experience at Niji! We’re so glad that Takumi has moved to a new location which included 4 hibachi tables, huge sushi tables, bars and tea houses! We ordered a variety of their sushi specialty rolls including their oysters! We will be back for their hibachi as well! Everything was delicious and service was great!"

"Takumi on Madison's east side is now Niji Asian Cuisine across from East Towne Mall. They just opened a couple weeks ago and this new location is beautiful! They did a great job remodeling the place with bigger hibachi tables, booth seatings, tea rooms and bar. Today we got their oysters and a few of their sushi specialty rolls. All were delicious!
