"A wide array of beautiful luxury mattresses. I have bought two American made Mattresses one first for my husband and me 20 years ago- it is still my favorite mattress of all time and one more recently for my daughter. The prices are fair and so worth sleeping in a phenomenal matters that really lasts for over 20 years. Once you try one here you won’t go back. The owner Will has always been friendly and patient with me even though I came by 5x before I decided on which one."
"I had a natural mattress that I acquired in 2016, which was unfortunately damaged by guests who spilled on it. I contacted the store regarding a replacement or refurbishment with fresh materials. The owner was very helpful, presenting both options. Ultimately, I decided to purchase a new mattress ($2800), considering that a mattress typically lasts 10-15 years, and I preferred to enjoy quality sleep for that foreseeable period. This marks my second mattress purchase from this store, and the quality remains unbeatable. With 30 years of experience in the mattress business, the owner offers one of the best products in the industry. After perusing some of the other reviews, it's evident that some customers grasp what they are purchasing and value the quality. These mattresses are essentially highly customizable premium products, akin to other premium brands such as Porsche, where customers can custom-order the exact car they desire. The fact that these mattresses are "custom" and made of the best available materials contributes to their higher price point. Additionally, the mattresses are partially hand-assembled. Therefore, if you appreciate premium, custom, handmade, eco-friendly, and individualized products, this mattress is likely to suit your preferences. I've also noticed complaints from customers who either expect unlimited guarantees or misunderstand the product they've purchased. It's analogous to someone acquiring a custom Porsche roadster and lamenting that they preferred the service department at their former Ford dealership because they offered complimentary Ford coffee during tire rotations. For anyone seeking the best available mattress under $3000, I highly recommend this store as an excellent destination for custom, personalized beds that cater precisely to your sleep needs. Not everyone needs to drive a Porsche; many will find greater satisfaction in a Honda."
"This is a review from a verifiable customer & a complaint directly about the store owner's unprofessional demeanor as well as unhygienic, dishonest, and rude service provided. I bought a mattress from the owner about a decade ago (the sleep quality has been very mixed, and at this point all 3 layers have been replaced by another brand) to support a green product & small business, then in an effort to be further loyal and green we replaced parts of it recently. The owner shipped the supposedly new, non-refundable, expensive $1200 mattress cover all scrunched up (not even neatly folded) in a fully open/unsealed plastic bag in a cardboard box. Bonus: it had hairs on it--yeah, very ick for a supposedly hypo-allergenic, unwashable mattress cover. (Don't know if it's from him or the dog he keeps in his store, but either way that's not hygienic business practice.) I'm actually pushed to write this review because the owner just emailed me to harass me at length to further dismiss my grievance about this bad service that he first rudely dismissed over the phone when I called to express it (not even return it). Aggressive defensiveness instead of responsible ownership of bad business practice is not the way to stay in business long-term.Furthermore, he also has unprofessional record keeping of past purchases. He claimed a replacement latex layer was given for free to us, despite us paying $450 for it (even though the mattress was still supposedly under warranty, and also the mattress layers quality was lacking which is why a replacement was needed). BUT this new latex layer was totally unrelated to the unhygienic mattress cover purchase I called about--the owner puzzlingly brought it up himself just to insult me for buying only one mattress? Or for being unhappy that silly people expected warranties to be honored if layers aren't performing well? That's a sure way to lose future sales. When he further also claimed the latex replacement was free, I called him on it (and later verified with my husband we paid $450 wholesale for it), but the owner didn't care that he had been wrong about that, either. So many actions were grossly unprofessional. So I bought 4 new natural, organic latex mattresses from a different, small company: If I have no power to convince the owner to be more professional, at least I can comfort myself that I took my repeat business elsewhere, and I hope others will, too."
"I’ve owned an Awareness mattress for going on 14 years and it has served me exceedingly well. I’m thrilled to know that the top layer of three can be replaced and I’ll have a brand new firm bed once again. Will, a NM founder, was totally responsive to my queries and gave me the confidence that being a loyal return patron was the only way to go."
"One star for two reasons: 1.) Not a competitive return policy, with no satisfaction guaranteed. All other competitive brands, with arguably better constructed products, offer full refunds for up to a year. 100 days is the minimum, with full refund and/or rolling exchanges. 2.) The mattress is "kit" built, in that they are simply a zippered fabric enclosure where they place basic coil springs (that come in a selection of firmness levels) and a foam pad on top of the springs. Nice and simple, which is fine, but in practical use makes for a mattress that didn't seem to hold up well. Also, there is no edge support so you will roll out of bed if you get too close to the edge. Trying to move the mattress is like trying to move a "slinky." It is also odd that the springs and foam have no labeling, so you don't know where they were manufactured or even if you got what you ordered in terms of firmness. We purchased one about two years ago, and within the short trial window made a switch in the spring density, but still didn't like it and at that point no option to return it or try another density. Moved it to our guest room, and had a great experience with other mattress retailers in finding a good fit to replace it. Writing this now because even our guests comment on the mattress, so looking to replace it even for the guest room. These are expensive mattresses, and given the way they're kit built it would seem logical they could at least provide a one year satisfaction guarantee to try different springs IF they're confident in the product. I'm sure for many these mattresses may be fine, but we failed to compare these against similar natural mattress offerings when we purchased this and regret not doing so. Too focused on buying local vs ensuring a good value received."
