"This was a very bad experience. The hallways leading to rooms floors were filthy looked like someone spilled bleach all the way down hallway. Get in room the sofabed is already laid out with pillows we try to fold it in won't fold down. Bathroom toilet and floor were both filthy. Asked Manager to give a refund but he wouldn't then tried to downgrade my room. Manager was very rude!!! Would not recommend to a dog!!! First and last time staying there. Managers are supposed to make guests feel like coming back. I will never stay at this place. Take your money elsewhere!! TRASH PLACE!!! VERY RUDE, HATEFUL MANAGER! DIRTY, FILTHY, NASTY!! Wish I could give zero stars!!!!"
"Beds were comfortable but everything else was very very disappointing. The breakfast, well, to be nice..,sucked. The scrambled eggs weren't cooked and neither was the sausage. Nothing for bread with the exception of one bagel. The boiled eggs were so old and yucky. Left hungry and tired.....The ac/heater in the room was so loud and made noise all night long and kept us awake. Won't stay again."
"I was nervous about staying here, due to the reviews, but I actually had a very pleasant stay! I slept well. The only negative was the chair in my room was broken, and the elevator smelled like burning wires, but overall I really enjoyed my stay. I will be back. Oh, and to add, the gated parking lot, eased my mind."
"If you are looking somewhere close to the airport, this is a good hotel. The rooms are clean. The cable is terrible, and more than half of the channels are fuzzy. When I asked, they said that is the way it. There is a gated and secured parking lot. There are not a lot of options in the marketplace for soda or water, but the prices are affordable. I would stay here again if I was dropping someone at the airport early. It was 7 minutes to the departure area. It's very convenient. We were in the last room at the end near the stairwell. It was very loud all night. I would recommend a more interior room for a better night sleep."
"OK, I came in on a Greyhound that was late making a connection, forcing a 24 hour layover after I'd already spent the previous day busy, plus 9 hours on a bus. I'm disabled, carrying gear, and unlike some, I'm not going to spend a day trying to rest in a bus station. So, I looked at the hotel options nearby. Comfort Inn looked like the most reasonable option, so I called to see if they had a shuttle, which was a no, despite the listing showing there was. This does not detract from my experience in the slightest. I grabbed a cab in front of the depot, and he transported me safely to the Comfort Inn. I arrived at the desk, where my exhaustion caused some confusion in sorting out my needs, an early check-in, and rest. I did pay an early check-in premium, understanding there's industry standard of a 3 PM check-in time on average in the area, and I was arriving at 10 AM. Real rest was my priority. The lobby was clean, scrupulously so. Everything was neat and organized. The desk clerk was helpful, and got me a room just down the hall a little way. There was the scent of "clean" all the way. I'm a nonsmoker, and sense of smell works fine, and nowhere did I pick up the scents of smoke of any kind. In my room, I quickly set up. Inspection showed things were clean there. The only minor thing that detracted from it was the AC unit was a little louder than average while actually cooling, but it lulled me to sleep pretty quickly. I used to be in the Navy, and it sounded a little like the gas turbines of my destroyer, a familiar tune. I've heard much worse, though. There were signs of people who didn't respect the hotel property, like a bleach stain on the upholstered chair, a missing towel hook, a chip in the baseboard tile. But the room was clean and odor free. There were plenty of power outlets available. There was a clean mini-fridge, a microwave, a nice Samsung TV, and the usual array of complimentary soap and shampoos. The shower was hot, and so clean the tub was a little slippery, but the handy grab bar made that a minor thing, be wary, for your own safety. A tub mat would be recommended, though I'm sure some would think they were entitled to take them home. Up by the desk, they have a room with coolers that have available sandwiches, Hot Pockets, soft drinks, and water. Ask the clerk for the access key to get in. At the time of my visit, sandwiches were $3, drinks $1, and since I wasn't interested in going to the only nearby restaurant, I selected a spicy chicken breast sandwich, and a couple of Diet Cokes. I got a bucket of ice from the machine down from the lobby, it tasted fine, as did the tap water. I didn't see signs of neglect of that machine, and did look before scooping. The king bed of the room was probably what I'd call extra-firm. Much, much softer than a Greyhound lobby metal bench or terrazzo floor, though! It was comfortable to me, and after a hot shower, I slipped between the sheets, set the TV Sleep timer, and dropped immediately to sleep. I slept well, and I'm grateful to have had a good place in a strange city to do so. My taxi driver came back at 3:15 AM to take me back to the depot. I'd paid him $10 to get from the depot, $10 back, and tipped him after the return trip for both rides. This was satisfactory to both of us, an arrangement I've used around the world. If I'm in Memphis again, they'll be in my "file" of places I'd go to again. I saw nothing that would give the location some of the reviews I read. I looked for them. That's a shame, really, that people do this, because it hurts businesses unnecessarily. I'd send friends and family here, if they were in Memphis needing a place to stay. The proximity to transportation is convenient, and I'm glad I got the rest I needed to continue my bus trip. Thank you to the staff of Comfort Inn Airport. Y'all did a fine job, keep up the good work!"
