Hu. Hotel

"The hotel is in an excellent location. It’s close to many restaurants, bars, shops, etc. I felt safe walking to and from Beale Street late at night. Parking cost is $22 per night extra in the parking garage across the street. Not valet. The room was small but decent enough. There is a refrigerator, there is not a microwave. There is no ice bucket provided in the room either. You have to go all the way down to the front desk to get an ice bucket and get ice each time. The room could’ve been cleaner as there was a black stain on the comforter and stains all over the carpet. The bathroom floor was disgustingly sticky, I refused to walk on it so I put towels down. Only one elevator was working and the one that did work took forever and I was only on the 3rd floor. We could never get the temperature right in the room either, it was always too cold or too warm. The bed was comfortable enough. They never came to clean the room during our stay. They have a roof top bar that does have great views. I can’t speak to anything else regarding the rooftop bar because we did not stay for drinks. Overall, it was just okay. I don’t know that I would stay again. I imagine there has to be better and cleaner hotels available in the downtown Memphis area."

"We stayed one night and I must say that we have never felt so unwelcome in a hotel before. The staff seemed annoyed if we asked any basic question - such as, “why is there no towels in our room” “why doesn’t the elevator work”. When we went back in the night, the lady at the counter had a private conversation on her phone and disregarded our presence or questions but yelled some minute after, very aggressively, “what did you say?!” The rooms seemed half finished. Art decor is really a stretch. Roof top bar closed and lobby area not available either. This is not a cheap hotel, so I had expected more. I would really not recommend this hotel."

"Positive: The location of this hotel is excellent. It's located downtown with many stores, restaurants, and attractions within walkable distance. Room was decently clean, though the carpet is clearly old & needs to be replaced. This didn't bother me so much, though. Negatives: The service was awful. Despite the staff being friendly, no requests were executed. I stayed for 8 nights. I was told that I had to request for room cleanings 24 hours in advance. Despite doing this several times, my room was NEVER cleaned. I eventually gave up on room cleanings and just requested fresh towels. I had to request towels on FOUR different occasions before getting them. It was not until I went down to the front desk in complete frustration that I was out of clean towels, toilet paper, and soap that I was given those things. Finally, I parked a car in their garage for one night, which I was told would be 22 dollars. I have a $110 charge on my card after checking out, and I do not have a clear answer as to why. Overall: Great location, awful service--especially for such an expensive hotel. Seems like they just do not have the personnel/systems in place to operate efficiently. For this level of service, I recommend the Holiday Inn around the corner."

"The staff is friendly and helpful, location is great. I am currently staying here in room 1401 and the best I can say is the bed is comfortable. There is no hot water at all in the shower, the bathroom sink does not drain and the entire hall way leading to the room smells like marijuana. I understand this is a 3 star hotel but for almost $800 for three nights I expect to be able to take a hot shower."

"Ebony was amazing from making our reservations to checking in and out ! Not sure if shes a manager but she should be!! the place ran very smoothly when she was working and she was an absolute pleasure to deal with she went above and beyond to give us referrals on places to eat and sites to see she actually wrote many places down for us to visit . Very personable . The rooftop was amazing and the bar tender tie was also amazing! I wanted to stay here because of the rooftop and we were not disappointed ! The lights on the bridge and the hourly light show was stunning!!"
